    Hi Nodin,

Maybe you missed this bit, "Taxpayers face paying millions of pounds in extra benefits to Eastern European immigrants because of changes to EU regulations".

We are also members of the EU.

    Thanks a million.

Changes made seven years ago - the Workers Registration Scheme being implemented for the maximum seven years during the transition period, no?

(The article isn't all that heavy on background details)

My question, again, is did we have a similar scheme, or are we already operating under the directive?

    Hi Nodin,

    Maybe you (....)EU.
    Thanks a million.

There are differences between EU states you know.

    Now, with regard to this....

Why are you posting/linking anti-semetic material on this site?

Yes, we have a similar directive. We very nearly allowed them access to social welfare from the start but toed behind the UK at the last minute.

That site is for the Armenian diaspora. I posted it on the Armenian Genocide thread to throw the cat amongst the pigeons and give an Armenian point of view, however controversial.

    Nice smear attempt. Bravo.

Would also be nice to find out if Godwin's law actually applies over on Stormfront; I'm sure he'd be well able to give us a definitive answer on that one, and I've always wondered.

At least it will help the motor industry, because they're all going to get brand new beemers. They will also be getting free houses, which will sort out the glut of empty properties all over the country.

I have this on good authority from a very reliable source.

The can sign up with the health board. They will provide payment whilst their claims are being processed.

Can't they already do this though?

Did the only "excellent article" from the Armenian point of view on the whole wide internet really have to contain references to the Jews' "Satanic Bible, the Talmud"?

I'm a pro-Palestine smelly hard left Liberal myself, but as Wilde pointed out many years ago, "Antisemitism is vulgar and ungrateful, they're the only people who lend money"

The trickle down effect from all the brand new prams that will be left on the street at bus stops will be marvelous too.

    You stated, and I quote
Heres an excellent article on the Armenian genocide.

Heres a sample of that "excellent article".....
All this according to the percepts of the Talmud, the Satanic Bible of the Jews, which encourages Jews to kill, directly or indirectly, by sayings like: "Every Jew who spills the blood of the godless, is doing the same as making a sacrifice to God." Talmud: Bammidber Raba c21 & Jalkut 772. In the eyes of Tamudists all non-Jews are godless. And "It is the law to kill anyone who denies the Torah. The Christians belong to the denying ones of the Torah." Talmud: Coschen Hamischpat, Hagah 425. Very neatly put sentence indeed.

    Link

Theres further such nonsense concerning Masons and "infiltrated" Jews therein.
That site is for the Armenian diaspora.

And of all the Armenian sites and the articles upon them you selected that site, with that clearly anti-semetic, semi-coherent babble on it....

Time to make unemployment benefit less attractive financially then.

It already is - Ireland has the third lowest rate of UB in the EU15.

Did the only "excellent article" from the Armenian point of view on the whole wide internet really have to contain references to the Jews' "Satanic Bible, the Talmud"?

An awful lot of Armenians blame Jews on the Armenian genocide, not the Turks. In a thread on the Armenian Genocide, all viewpoints should be added to the mix.

I didnt write the article. I didnt agree with the article. But it gave the reader an insight into the bad feeling and seething hatred that is still felt over the Armenian Genocide.

I found it interesting. Things arent always as simple as they may seem.

Thanks. Any idea what it's called?

But won't Jobseeker's Allowance still have the Habitual Residence requirement?

And Jobseekers Benefit will need the required amount of PRSI payments (though probably transferable from other EU countries)? Plus, as previous posters have mentioned, we're quite low in the EU as regards Benefit - wouldn't someone be better off going for Belgium instead?

I dont off the top of my head. I will find it later on during the week and post it up.

Nope, not under the new legislation. Once they are here for three months and they can prove that they have been actively seeking work, undergone training or attended job interviews.

If an EU citizen has paid two years worth of contributions in an EU country and have made a PRSI contribution in Ireland, they can claim JB here.

You tell me, can they? I dont know.

Ah right, I thought you'd have checked it out seeing as you posted it 3 times already.

If they can claim it, it kind of blows a massive hole in what you are saying.

Damn it, almost had a full blown Godwin in 8 pages! Ya had to ruin it by citing Armenians instead of Jews!

Instead of reading this nonsense I'm waiting for Berlin to come riding in with her magical czechbook and pay the bill for these hordes of dole monkeys. Long live the EU gravytrain!

Whilst your claim is being processed you can pay the health board or the community welfare officer a visit and they will issue you with payment if they deem it fit.

I've no interest in PM's. Post your answer in the armenian thread and I'll stop raising in this.

Nope, not under the new legislation. Once they are here for three months and they can prove that they have been actively seeking work, undergone training or attended job interviews.

I don't know that this will be the case in Ireland (possibly it will in the UK). It may be for Jobseekers Benefit, but it's possible Jobseekers Allowance will still retain the Habitual Residency requirement. Consider this article in the Examiner this year points out that under Habitual Residency Legislation, even returning Irish citizens have been denied Jobseekers Allowance. It doesn't say anything about the legislation beyond that, but equally the Mail article doesn't really go into detail - so it's hard to know.
If an EU citizen has paid two years worth of contributions in an EU country and have made a PRSI contribution in Ireland, they can claim JB here.

So they have to have been working for two years and worked in Ireland to get JB - plus there are other countries that provide far more attractive JB payments - we seem to be one of the lowest in the EU.
