The Drifter decided to inform me tonight that my life has been a slippery slope of drunkness and debauchery over the last few months. I think he meant it in a bad way, no one has ever given me a bigger compliment.

Isn't it funny how the "new" Hanley still manages to be leaner than he has been for the last 2 years, hitting bigger numbers and doing harder metcons quicker while doing all that tho? :p

Did ya get my email actually? Too lazy to hit up gmail to check.

And yes, serious bromance between me and Drifter tonight.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymkata
Gymkata is a 1985 film filmed in Yugoslavia and starring Kurt Thomas as Jonathan Cabot, an Olympic gymnast who combines his gymnastic ability with ninjutsu to enter a deadly competition in a fictional country, Parmistan. It is based on the novel The Terrible Game (1957) by Dan Tyler Moore. The film has developed a minor cult following as an unintentional comedy for its dubious premise, poor production quality and low budget. Maxim lists the film as the 17th "Worst Movie of All Time". Due to the sensitive nature of the film it was banned in Finland in 1986 so as to not offend the USSR.

    BEST FIGHT SCENE EVER

Without even watchin it, Rub, I know this can't possibly be the best fight scene ever cos nowhere does it feature Stephen Seagal saying the immortal words........ "I'm just a cook..."

Although a dude kicking lumps outta lads with a pommel horse routine has to be close. I still reckon the fight scene from "they live" is better.

The bit at the start of the trailer is true, he actually did win 3 gold medals in the world championships.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Thomas_%28gymnast%29
Thomas became a member of the US Olympic team at the 1976 Summer Olympics. In 1978, Thomas was the first American male gymnast to win a gold medal in floor exercise in a world championship. In 1979 he became the first gymnast to receive the James E. Sullivan Award for the best amateur athlete in the US and earned two gold medals and three silver medals in international competition. He was expected by many to win a gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics, but the games were boycotted by the United States government. Two gymnastic moves were named for him, the Thomas Flair, a pommel horse move actually created by Lloyd Larson at Arizone State University, and the Thomas salto, his signature skill on floor exercise, a tucked 1.5 backward salto with 1.5 twist into a roll out (a difficult and dangerous skill even by today's standards).

Wow after inventing the most dangerous tumbling move this was the only way for him to go. Some pop trivia the "thomas" with a straight body is banned from competitions due to two girls ending up in wheel chairs in the same year from landing it wrong:eek:
