Wait a few more hours until this hits the US, unless they get a fix put in place in time. 3hrs until this mess hits the US east coast. Then the web forums will light up.

Numerous problems with Heavy Rain and now this

Its not just Heavy Rain so no point in blaming the game it has nothing to do with it.

You can play games that don't have the dynamic trophy, most of the new games have it though. For all concerned and I am sure their are millions NHL 09 still works.. Thank god.

Heard it put brilliantly on GAF:

"How far would you go to save the system you love?"
    :D Sogood.gif

But in all seriousness, this blows.
Especially for those who never connect their PS3 to the internet. Wonder what'll happen for them...

I got it on day of release and have had nothing but problems with it, all my other games work fine as I checked them to make sure it wasn't my PS3.

Well that's just lucky you, PES2010 isn't working either.

Have your other games got trophy's? Apparently it's only games with the trophy feature affected. All my trophies for Heavy rain have disappeared now.

All the older games still work. All the new titles don't. Its the dynamic trophy supported games that are bricked by this.

When the new firmware fix is out they will have to get internet access somewhere and download it to a USB stick and update that way. There does not seem to be another option.

Yes, but I'm not turning my PS3 back on to check till there's a fix out.

    You can following updates here:

If I was you I wouldn't touch my PS till this was fixed. I don't really care about trophies so hopefully they just delete all them and its fixed or something. The internet will destroy itself if that happens though people are obsessed by these trophies.

PSN status update: We're narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all. Updates as soon as we have them.

Latest from their twitter, they also confirmed that slim user's dont seem to be having problems.

Here’s what’s going on right now: something with the PS3’s internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3’s clock. This clock is NOT related to the OS clock. It seems to be a leap year bug. Setting your clock ahead will do nothing. All PS3s around the world were affected at the exact same time.
    Does this affect me?
-If you have a Slim PS3, you’re good to go. Continue playing it as normal.
-If you have a “fat” PS3, you may be affected. Some fat PS3s have worked ok, but it seems a good majority have been bugged.
    What does this bug mean?
-If affected, your date and time has been set to a random past date. This prevents you from signing into PSN, playing any PSN games, or using any DLC. Your trophies will also not display correctly or be able to sync.
    How do I fix it?
-You can’t. Even if you don’t sign into PSN, it won’t help. This is a hardware issue.
    So, what do I do?
-Wait 24 hours. Other products that have had similar bugs have corrected themselves after the “bugged” day. On Monday around 8pm central time, all PS3s will automatically correct themselves…maybe.
-If that doesn’t work, we’ll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.
    Did I lose my data/themes/etc?
Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They’ll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they’ll be fine if you’ve synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.
If I have a bugged PS3, can I still use it?
It’s probably not a good idea, as I have no idea what will happen to the trophies you earn during the bugged time. Movies/media will work fine.

Just in case it's an issue with others here there appears to be a problem with the older PHAT PS3 models connecting to PSN. Here is one of the Link's looks like Sony are looking. It appears to be a problem with the internal clock of the older PS3's and possibly needs a FW update to fix it. It's on a good few sites over the net just search for the error if you want other info.

    W

Edit Just saw the other thread. Still an update for those that want to are looking for this. Here's a link to the other thread

Not being able to connect to the PSN and not being able to play some games at all. You should read the thread and keep up.

Sony need to push through a firmware update now cause this probably won't fix itself.

My clock went to 31/12. Didn't check the year

According to GAF, the clock might fix itself tomorrow and be a day behind.
"12/31/99" is the OS clock. The system/internal clock is at 2/29/2010. The OS knows that is not a real date, so it is freaking out and reverting to 12/31/99. Once it hits 3/2/2010 IRL, the internal clock will hit 3/1/2010, which is a real date(albeit a day behind). Being a real date, the OS should recognize it, thus everything should work again.
