Such a brilliant day. Shmick, Rob and Declan are three of the nicest people I've met in Maynooth to date, and the absolute clarity of the Yes to USI is amazing, 70fcuking4 percent!?

A great day all around so far.

It is bloody tense in there by the way, people looked shattered before we had USI and Irish out of the way even. A long, long day and I don't envy them. Good luck to all our own boardsies still awaiting news.

Well done Banquo, expecting big things from you next year. With goals that are reachable, you should be able to deliver on the majority of your manifesto. Good luck

Meh can't see it making much of a difference seeing as there's about 20 people that actually post here :pac: His manifesto was brilliant though so I imagine that's what will win it.

There are more people than you would think who read but don't post that often. :) Congratulations to Banquo. Anything I heard you say made sense.

Just snuck into the count for welfare. Got kicked out after 5 minutes, but it was long enough to observe that on one of the tables, Liz's pile was the biggest, Lydia's a close second, then James, Mark and Mary kind of on even enough footing. Mark's might have been slightly bigger than Mary's or James'. Having said that, I only got to look at one table. They've just started counting.

Incidentally, it was pointed out that Lydia's name was after Liz's on the ballot paper, even though F for Farell comes before M for Muarry in the alphabet... It has be shown in elections before that candidates do better when they're higher on the ballot paper - people going in and doing the whole 1,2,3,4,5 thing. Would it be grounds to contest the result?

Anyway, here's hoping James or Lydia (or even Mark or Mary) pull through in the preferences. Not sure who ratted me out but Liz was the one who told me I'd have to leave :/

I do find it strange that Liz's name was above Lydia's... Well, with a little luck she won't get elected AGAIN, once was too often!

Ah now, Liz seemed to do a good enough job this year. That's probably why most people voted for her. Well, at least I assume so.

I dunno, I haven't noticed any positive changes this year in welfare. In fact the only thing I did notice was her article in the last print which to me seemed to say that if you don't abstain from sex you're probably too thick to use protection and will end up with more STI's then Paris Hilton.
