    Glenroe - heh, serious nostalgia tripping right there for me. Come Sunday night, you knew when this played;

    It was time for bed and school was waiting in the morning! :rolleyes:
    * sheds a manly tear *

    Hey, RTE! A one off Glenroe special might be nice, I might actually have to watch something like that!

    But what else sends me back....

    Cola Bars, cola bottles, getting your milk from a glass bottle in school, playing Grannies Garden on school computers. Dinky Cars, legos.

    I was very fond of my SNES back in the day, though it didn't help my social life at all!

    Granny's Garden!!! Oh my God I thought I had imagined that because noone else seemed to remember it :p

    Remember the milk cartons in national school with drawings of hurling and gaelic football on them? I think there may have been soccer as well :confused: We used to stand at the back of class just after break to drink them and we'd fight over who'd get the best picture on the carton :) Good times :p

    And a cameltoe too, I notice, before cameltoes were even invented.
    Truly a wonder.

    and to those that had commodore 64s, ye were way too far out there for me with the commodore 16. waiting for 30 mins for a game on a tape to load. it was worth it though!

    I thought that the number/free thing was on those flat round orange lollypops. I remember I got a free one of those because of some sort of letter/number.

    If there was one thing that you would/could bring back from your childhood/teen years, what would it be? Could be anything; food, tv shows etc etc.

    ==========================================================
    :cool:

    For me it would be how nice people were to each other,
    I know times were different, but people really cared for each other, their neighbours and friends. People shared what they had with those
    who had less than they had.

    I can remember my own father coming home from work one night,
    he was a hard working man, he worked as a laborer in the E.S.B
    he gave my two brothers and a sister an apple each, he took out another one and handed it to me and said, hear son it's all I have. I really believed it was all he had in this world and I refused to take the last thing he had, as the tears were running down my face.

    I have seen many years pass since and my father and mother have all passed on. I have never seen such kindness or friendship to that level since those long gone days, and I presume I never will either.

    I would bring back the Beano and the Dandy of the late '70s, with the 1977 cover price - 5p. They were the comics I grew up with. The Beano and Dandy today are an insult to any child's intelligence. I'd bring back Bunty too, especially the Four Marys, not to mention the Muppet Show and the Gong Show.

    Advertising without the mandatory phrase "and its good for the environment"

    The country going mad with the Rep of Ireland playing in intenational football tournaments

    Pubs without tv's

    People getting out in droves on the streets protesting at government policy even if I didn't agree with their grievances

    Slack (crushed coal fire with water...lava pits)

    The pre war on terror 9/11 world
