Play TV on TV3 "misleading, dishonest and unfair"

Except you exaggerated & embellished both of those examples.

    1) I've seen some of those 'spot the difference' puzzles, and there's only ever one difference. There were no BCC complaints about that particular game either.
If you check the Playtv thread, you'll see that there has been a few occasions where there has been more than one difference. I'm talking about those pictures of 16 ladybirds or whatever.
    2) It's never just something that the presenter is "thinking of" - it's always written down in a white envelope that's on display behind him/her.
Fair enough, the callers have to think of a thing written in a white envelope that is on display behind the presenter. Not seeing a big difference here.

By the way are you JG Murphy? I miss him, stopped watching when he left.

The black haired presenter Lauren Bannon is fooking gorgeous.

    Show is a joke though

I forgot to mention that Eamon Ryan was on Matt Cooper tonight discussing this and he admitted to ringing up Play TV 15 times on one night without ever getting through cueing much pisstaking from Cooper such as "What does your Wife think of it?" and "Are you putting it on your expenses account?" etc.

Some goverment minister Eamon Ryan is...........!!
Heard him on Matt Cooper alright, ringing Play TV 15 times.....He said he was asked who the lead singer of U2 was...When he was told Bono was incorrect he kept ringing in..........Took I while for the penny to drop Eamo....... When people are gonna ring in like this, of course they'll get ripped off.........Shows like this have been on late nite ITV for years.
Win a few grand for solving a simple puzzle..........Money for nothing.....What could be wrong with that...........Some people are there for the taking..

Anyone else been been a victim of their "misleading, disonest and unfair" quizshow?

NO, because it was clearly obvious that the show was "misleading, dishonest and unfair".

Here, do PLAY TV make you pick up the phone and ring in??

Some interesting stuff up on Wiki about some of the games. Don't know how true they are but interesting if they are.
    100% true.

Why so many dots and does it make you feel you get your false information across better? and NO Eamon Ryan was not told he was incorrect he was told he didn't make it through to the presenter and to try again.

    From wikipedia

"Derval Mellett, from north-south Dublin but for the past few years she has been splitting her time between London and Dublin. She received her education at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff. Due to being a ginger, Mellett is often ridiculed by the other presenters of the programme." :D

Brilliant quote from George Hook on his twitter page:

Play TV - after watching more episodes of the Shield last night I looked at TV3 - only neandertals could telephone and think they could win

Whatever happened to "A fool and his money are easily parted" and "Let the buyer beware"?
Why do we always have to cater to the lowest common denominator?

There was a consumer piece about this on the radio the other day - the quiz answers are hilarious. Example:

Name an item commonly found in a kitchen.

    Answer: a marshmallow

I disagree with Mr Hook on this one. In fact, I challenge him to find one genuine Neanderthal who phoned in thinking he could win.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

The best I've seen so far was a puzzle where the number 2185 was spelt out with matches. The goal was to arrive at the highest number by moving exactly two matches, which turned out to be 2^1E5, or 2^100000, or approximately 9.99002093014384507944032764330033590980429139054181 x 10^30102. In decimal, the number is 30103 digits long.

    That, m'lady, is a puzzle.

There is a certain element of genius in that, to be fair!

Hooky did a Q&A session a few weeks ago on the rugby forum: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055817876

Maybe you can challenge him when he comes on again. :D

I did not know that! Although I'd probably have been banned for going OT if I had asked.

Well all you can do is find more posts by said user, and if you were really interested count the ones in AHs.

But you will only find the last 500 posts they posted across boards, in all.:pac:

    Sat through it one night.
    The question was something like:
"Something you find in the kitchen beginning with C"
They took a fair few calls.
Every 40 mins or so, they gave a bit of a 'clue' which was ambiguous to say the least.
30 mins from the end, they said it would be found in the fridge.
10 mins from the end, they said it was a type of nut.
After 4 calls from people whereby the gave the names of some common nuts beginning with C, some guy gave the correct answer.
I, nor anyone else I know, had never heard of it before.

It is the 3 card trick of tv programming.

Never watched it, often saw it starting when turning off the
    goggle box.
I heard a chat show on one day on the radio.... No it wasn't
    bucking Joe Duffy,
It went on to say that they showed 12 sets of eyes and they wanted to know, which ones were Brad Pit's,
After 11 phone calls the women was told no, at this stage the prize was about €600 and I suppose she had spent about €20 on calls.
She went for the final call and was told no again... the answer to the question was there were three sets of the photo's his, Brad's I mean

Well if your sad enough to sit up and look at that crap, life must be very dull, It's not for me......
