Michael Murray was hounded out of Temple Bar and now another town again last night.

Callers on Joe Duffy (as they were two weeks ago) now saying they are having vigils and got him moved again last night.

Do you think he should be allowed to live where he wants?

With a history like that this guys only chance is to change his name and maybe leave the country.

To be honest, if the police believe he is such a threat, I'm sure there will be extensive presence dedicated to his every move.

I think i'm safe enough where i am though, the teenagers would stab him before he got a chance to reoffend.

I'd rather have that decided by Judicial review than a mob and joe poxy duffy though.

Because most of the time the Justice system favours the criminal and not society.

We should organise a linch mob and give him the kind of justice his first ever victim deserved 25 years ago. Scum like him don't deserve jail time. A quick bullet to the head would have been more appropriate. We do it to a rabid dog without thinking twice. This guy's way worse.

Its for people like him we should be able to know if a sex offender is living beside us like they do in America and England.

Said it before, saying it again. Judges should have an option to grant that the criminal, if still deemed to be a dangerous risk upon completion of a sentence, be held in a secure mental facility indefinitely if he is still deemed a danger to society.

He has a plce to live, women are safe(r), everyone wins.

Thanks! As a bonus he'll be easy to spot with all the Herald tatoos on his face. I have my own favourite newspaper but I don't think I could make such a public demonstration of my loyalty.

There is quite a phenomena of killers like this getting tons of female admirers writing to them.

Remember an interview with Ted Bundy's warden years ago where he said that Ted received sack loads of letters from women sending him photos and their panties.

I doubt many will agree with me but I think he's served his time, he's been judged to no longer be a threat to society and will be supervised closely by the gardai and probation. I think he should be left alone.

I have huge sympathy for the victims of this guy but I cant get on board with this tabloid vigilante mentality.

If he no longer presents a danger to the public, then yes he should be able to live wherever he pleases.

If he's still considered to be a danger to the public, then why is he not still in prison?

So yes, let him live wherever - but if and when he rapes someone again, we can all use the case to ensure that prisoners who are deemed to be a risk not be released, or that sentences act as a valid deterrent. Some of the jail-terms for rapists would make one despair.

Did you read the article linked to in an earlier post? He's a recidivist, he was not judged to be no longer a threat.. Even the Gardai acknowledge how dangerous he still is

Yeah but Ted Bundy was an eloquent, good looking man. He also defended himself in court and put on a good performance by all accounts.

FYI Charles Manson is the most written-to man in America. Once again a very eloquent fella with clear intelligence on display. Had a harem of of women following and killing for him.

Same again with guys like Jim Jones and David Koresh.

Once you have the gift of the gab you really have a tool in your arsenal with the ladies, doesn't matter what kind of psycho or sick fúck you are.
