    Newly announced acts:

    Grizzly Bear
    Built to Spill
    Tortoise
    Condo Fucks
    Seefeel
    Beak>
    Major Lazer
    Monotonix
    Ben Frost
    Mujeres
    Apse
    Thee Oh Sees
    Black Math Horseman
    Sian Alice Group
    Fake Blood

Have wanted to see Grizzly Bear (only saw about 10 minutes of them at Pukkelpop). Besides Built to Spill, Tortoise, Apse, and Fake Blood, haven't heard music by the others. What's the story with Condo Fucks, are they basically Yo La Tengo under a different alias?

Pretty much. Exact same line up. Just a bit punkier, I think. I wonder is there any chance of them playing a Yo La Tengo set as well?

I heard Faith No More were rumoured to play, has some merit as they didn't play Spain on their reunion tour last year. Would be an awesome addition.

There are still more acts to be announced, though that's the main bulk confirmed. I remember last year Neil Young was added after the main announcement even though he was the headliner.

Line up looking very nice, will have to begin checking out some of the unfamiliar acts soon.

EDIT: Jane's Addiction appear on one of the posters for the event, might be a later addition.

That line up is actually incredible..

I now have to go and make some phone calls and see will anyone go with me

day-by-day breakdown, not all bands are on this yet: http://www.primaverasound.com/ps.php?seccion=cartel&sub=dias&idioma=en

I've never been to Primavera and am thinking of joining some friends who are going this year but they've already booked accomodation. Can anyone suggest somewhere good for attending the festival?

The best suggestion might persuade me to book tickets.

Also - does anyone know how strict they are with cameras? I was at Benicassim a few years ago and loads of people had prof cameras and no issues, I figure the Spanish are more relaxed - is it the same at Primavera?

Heard mixed reports from cameras. Some people get them in.. some are made put them in the cloakroom. I think it really depends on how big the bag is.

I've always stayed in an apartment with friends so can't really advise on the accommodation. Possibly see if anyone is looking for someone to make up numbers for an apartment. EP forum, Primavera sound forum and the Drowned in Sound forum would be possible places to ask?

Doesn't look like there will be any more acts to be added, all the slots look like they've been filled, after comparing the amount with last year's lineup (think the Saturday last year had less acts with Neil Young playing). Also the breakdown of the ATP stage by day, order and times are usually announced early-to-mid May:

    Thursday
    Apse
    The Books
    Circulatory System
    Seefeel
    Tortoise
    Ui

    Friday
    Beak>
    Beach House
    Black Math Horsemen
    Scout Niblett
    Shellac

    Saturday
    Built to Spill
    Ben Frost
    Liquid Liquid
    Polvo
    The Psychic Paramount
    Rother/Shelley/Mullan
    Sian Alice Group

You should check out this place, it's where I'm staying, seems pretty good, quite cheap as well, just nothing too fancy!

Anyone know if Pixies are doing a regular set at Primavera, or one of the Doolittle ones? According to Setlist.fm, they've been doing Doolittle ones as recently as the end of March, but the Primavera line-up doesn't it.

Is that a leak from the organisers? Looks somewhat legit.

For anyone that's going - check out Irish band So Cow on the Adidas Originals Stage.

    They're great live.

Picked it up on another forum, not too many clashes on it for me if it is right, just les savy fav and the pixies, but if the pixies do what they did in Dublin last year, it will be les savy fav for me

Read on Thumped that the timetable doing the rounds was created by someone on the Primavera foum so don't think it's legit.

Man I hope the volcano doesn't scupper this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,881 ✭✭✭Toast

I assume there is no practical alternatives to get there if it does?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,585 ✭✭✭honru

Ferry to France and then train it down. Sounds expensive though, wouldn't be worth it to me.

    official timetable from PS10 site
    http://www.primaverasound.com/ps.php...rios&idioma=en

im happy enough apart from Les Savy Fav v Japandroids
and Built to Spill v Charlatans

Shame Mission of Burma and Pavement more or less clash but at least MOB are playing their own show here.

Besides that it isn't that bad but I'm feeling there will be a load of potential clashes on the Saturday.

Anyone on here going? This Ash cloud nonsense is making me a bit nervous so I've started looking at alternative ways of getting to Barcelona

As far as I can tell we have two alternatives:

    1. Ferry from Rosslare to Roscoff (18hrs 30 mins) > bus from Roscoff to Barcelona (12/13 hours)

    2. Ferry to Holyhead > train to London > Eurostar to Paris > trainhotel to Barcelona

The second option would be a bit less gruesome and probably a good bit quicker, but there's a bigger chance of missing connections.

Anyone else looked into this and have anymore options?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,425 ✭✭✭indiewindy

Your second option is pretty good, the problem I have is that I'm due to fly out on the Wednesday and if thats cancelled, I'd have no chance of making the festival travelling overland

Yeah we're going on Sunday so we'll have plenty of time to get there and can even go Friday or Saturday if need be. I suppose there's also the option of flying from London to Barcelona if it's only and Irish/NW of England closure as many of the recent ones have been. Last minute flights will probably be very very costly though.
