As I am here. My housemate wants to add that he did a Masters in UL. He actually slept his way through it and handed the thesis in a YEAR late and still managed a good 2.1.

He just got on with it come exam time and didn't complain.

    It really is perfectly manageable.

I actually remember that Drake. I I actually know another lad who referenced Championship Manager as part of his FYP for HPSS. Bad enough but the title was based on GAA. HPSS, some course.

Not going to knock an arts masters but it's not the hardest of courses. Compare it to doing a MAcc. No competition. Also, trust me; I'm very happy with my job and it's pretty prestigious as a matter of fact.

    I like this bitching.

Oh look at you and your masters. In fact I have 2 degrees and a Masters. All from UL. And one of the degrees is in law and masters is in law so I guess I know what hard work is. The hours and hours I spent in the library would have you crying. My classmates were the same. Law is crazy difficult and competitive.

I just don't see why you would come on a forum and complain about a workload, which to me, looks tough but manageable. Just get on with it. We have all been there.

I am going to hazard a guess the Masters is something in the History politics social studies area??

Congrats on having 2 degrees and a masters...in less than a year, I'll have my third qualification also, and none of them in HPSS as you somewhat ignorantly suggest [I say ignorantly, because I gave a detailed description of mt masters to another poster in a different thread, adn those who regularly post here know that]..

I came on to complain on a thread entitled "Official bitch about daily life in UL"...I wonder why I complained...sometimes its good to vent your frustrations..I assume that you can understand that much at least right?!

Old job. Sometimes you have to get **** experience in a dodgy job to get a good one.

There you go; nice an explained. Sorry though; I can't claim three degrees like the rest of you...

Are ye ever going to leave college?

You should be clearer with your statements ;)

I never claimed 3 degrees, I said I'll have 3 qualifications [not the same thing], and perhaps I shall never leave college - perhaps I'll even consider lecturing...I'm young enough still, and I've worked for long enough as well, and I know that I'd rather be in college than working full-time, and thats for sure!

Ah I can't knock that in fairness. I had my fill of UL after 4 years of the place but everyone to their own sure. I'm going to assume this third qualification is going to be a Phd so or maybe a professional qualification.

Glad to be away from UL to be honest. I love the place but would be doing some bitching on this thread if I was still there!

For the amount of bitching your doing in the "real working world" it would lead me to believe you had your head up your arse when you were younger and chose the wrong career...... not difficult to do but you seem to have trouble managing it!!

The fact that you seem to live on this forum and your not even here anymore is a little, sorry, majorly sad!!!

You've already spent at least 9 years "out of the world of work". Stop trying to live in your past and get on living your own life!!

bull**** . I took me 7 years to achieve what I did. I also worked my whole way through it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,916 ✭✭✭NickDrake

Well...maybe Mossin isn't a lazy ass and actually wants to get a good grade out of this.

    2.1 isn't a good grade? Are you set for a 1.1?

He probably would have gotten higher if he got off his ass and did some work, in fairness.

And you sit here bitching to hard working students who are, understandably, feeling the pressure and having a little vent.

Once Mossin gets his Masters, with what I'm sure will be a glowing result, he will be able to look back on it and be proud of all the hard work he put into it.

Do you think your friend might regret not putting in the effort, and wasting that year, where he might have been able to finish up his education and getting a job? Who knows what opportunities may have passed him by by slacking off.

As for your very drole, sarcastic comment about my aspirations, I'm a 2nd Year Business student, my workload is no-where near as bad as Mossin's yet. I'll still have my vent, or I dunno... "bitch about daily life in UL" as many others here will.

I will then get down to work, do my best to reach my goals in life, which are clearly more focussed than your friend's were.

There's a Ranting and Raving forum by the way, would you like to go and tell them to put up and shut up aswell?

*sigh* I feel better after that :o

This isn't the bitch about each other thread so all of you knock it off please. Yes,that's a big red "stop" sign, kindly heed it.

You can, however, bitch about daily life in UL - it's what the thread is for.

    /mod

Hmmmm.. Ony because Sceptre says, I won't reply.............. Jaysus!!!

Yeah what Sceptre said, you go out for a pint and you come back to this!

Stop bitching about each other and bitch about UL, as per the thread title!

Whinging about 'the real world' (Your mods and a lot of people on this forum, are well aware of what the real world entails) and how it entails to college is irrelevant. Everyone knows college is a bit of a dos compared to 'real life', but come week 13 with exams, 2 projects, an essay and a thesis looming, I know I'd prefer the comfort of a 9-5 job compared to that, and so would many others here

Would people PLEASE stop logging onto Facebook on their laptop during lectures?!!

It makes the rest of us who are using ours to genuinely take down notes, etc. look bad

Women. Flush the toilet when you are finished, NASTY!!:(

    Amen! Nasty.

Also, I think the fact that most of the women's toilets on campus have no lid is an absolute disgrace!

When the toilet is flushed all manner of matter gets sprayed up to 15 feet around the toilet . . . nice.

Yeah a mate of mine who works in a pub always says he dreads cleaning the womens toilets 10 times more than the mens at the end of a night out. In his eloquent words there's plenty of 'jam rolls' to clean up

Also, I kid you not...A few weeks ago I was in those toilets again, and I SWEAR there was piss all over the seat AND floor.

So basically, a girl managed to miss the bowl, which I thought would be a pretty difficult feat.

Yup. Power Point, download lecture notes, fill in extra notes in class. Extra slides, etc.

Most lecturers provide skeleton notes anyways.

    That's how I do it anyways :P

I'm only 6 years out of CIT, we had to take down most of the muck. Don't think I could have afforded a laptop back then to be honest so just as well :D
