    I reckon it would be much better. There would be more insightful posts with an actual point to make instead of a crowd of eejits thinking they're smart or funny with nonsensical comments.

    AH really has become a sham since the thanks thingy came in last year.

    There would be reams and reams of "+1", :D, "brilliant!", "LMAO", "ROFL", "PMSL" etc to plough through - er, bring that back!

    I think instances of "thanks-whoring" are greatly exaggerated... I'm willing to bet people would post the exact same types of responses it's assumed are attempts to "thanks-whore" if there was no thanks button.

    Feedback has seen a lot of threads regarding the Thanks button.

    It has it's positives too you know.

    Lets say,you post something in reply to a thread and I agree with you because I was going to reply with something similar.

    It's quicker and cleaner for the thread to just thank the post I agree with.

    Thanks is a great way for lazy people to spread love. You can agree, thank or just laugh at jokes with a single click. Often in cases where you couldn't be arsed detailing such responses and may be tempted to opt for a dreaded +1.
