Ahmadinajad will reveal what his country's top scientists have been building in secret bunkers: an affordable mass-producible automobile powered by Allah and the prayers of the faithful, breaking the OPEC oil monopoly and bringing about the downfall of corporate America, western civilization and our primitive notions of modesty.

But seriously, show of Hands: Who would support a UN Peacekeeping/Overthrow invasion of Iran?

Ahmadinejad - yet again a nutcase with too much power - and going by the last rigged election, not even legal.

As they saying goes, if you are normal the crowd will accept you, if you are deranged the crowd will make you their leader!

He doesn't really have much power, the Supreme Leader is, well the supreme leader. It was up to him how the election went, not Ahmadinejad.

Iran has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world, why would they do that?*

*I do realise they are not actually going to reveal a God powered car

Or maybe hes cracking down on "Western birthdays"! The b@st@rd!

Actually, I'm in Oz so I get almost the whole day before he even wakes up! Maybe hes targeting Valentines Day. Embargo on love hearts and glitter?

That's ridiculous, outside interventions is what made Iran what it is. Just because this invasion would be led by the supposedly neutral UN would not make it any better. You'd think with US troops occupying two different countries for no gains going on 10 years would teach you something about how smart it would be to invade a middle eastern country with a massive army and paramilitary reserves, which would also completely disrupt oil production.

No. But I'd give full support to a UN Peacekeeping/Overthrow invasion of Ireland.

For a long time the Arab world has been threatening to start charging Euro's instead of dollars for oil. That would a fairly large smack in the mouth for the US.

Almost forgot about that one, some claim that was one of the reasons for the invasion of Iraq.

Yea, it'd trigger a run on the dollar and the knock-on effects would cripple the US economy and **** up the global economy.

They'll be invaded if they do that.

An invasion of Iran would be insane anyway. I remember reading that they used to send guys from the revolutionary guard across minefields to clear a path during the Iran/Iraq war. These guys would'nt roll over as easily as the iraqi army did if the US invaded Iran.

I don't know much about economics but despite that being a huge blow to the US wouldn't it shift money to the EU economies if euro was used instead?

Yes, and not just adults either, typically young teenage boys gave up their lives to clear these paths.

Someone once said of the tenacity of the Iranians, that, to paraphrase, any group of people who will commit so many years of elaborate labouring and intense concentration into simply weaving a Persian rug, will stop at nothing to defend Persian honour.

    Neither do I. :)
AFAIK if the US economy fecks up it'll have a knock-on effect because we all export to the USA.

He's going to need that armoured-dinner-jacket if he pisses the yanks off.

Perhaps he's going to tell all democratic nations to get down off their 'high-horse'; that all this talk of human rights and whatnot is just 'political correctness gone mad'.
At least if he's been taking tips from After Hours, he might.
