    What's this, I don't even...

I swear, if one of my own future kids was to cause such an occurance at a school they were at, there'd be servre punishment from me. I'm talking about getting grounded, all electronics taken off them, locked into thier room and made do heavy chores.

Bullies need to have a tonne of bricks thrown on them, not ' rewarded ' for such behaviour!

Bullies are pure scum, regardless of the country they come from.

I don't think that was a case of Jocks V Nerds. It was just a classic case of bullying. It happens here too.

I think this comment on the page is quite good:
From what I read on other sites, the bullies were also angry that the guy one of them liked asked Prince to the dance.
Disgusting that the school allowed the winter dance to go on as planned, just two days after the suicide. Why not cancel it as a gesture of mourning...or, better yet, as punishment? In fact, why not get rid of it completely? Kids obviously cannot handle the intermingling of social hour and academics -- especially since their parents are disinterested in teaching them how to behave like civilized people -- and the school clearly cannot handle the fallout from bullying situations, which are exacerbated by such jealousy-inducing events.
Enough is enough! Let schools be places for learning...not some ridiculous haven for dance "royalty" and other vain displays of petty social hierarchy. Kids are nasty enough as it is; we don't need to fuel an already blazing fire with school-sponsored social time.

she was not bullied to death she was mentally depressed. I hate the idea that bullies are at fault here, it so horribly PC and ignorant. I blame both the girl her parents for not teaching her how to resist a few insults. What ever happened to "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me" Everyone was bullied at school (except maybe the bullies, but their uncle touched them) and we all have to get over it. Become stronger for it. Life isn't an easy ride of hugs and love we have to be ready for all the taunts and abuse we get.

I think this is survival of the fittest in action. she wasn't able so she has been eliminated from the gene pool

    **** me that was cold.

There are contributary factors to her death and are in part responsible in the eyes of the law.

Yeah, lots of people get bullied. And of course it happens here too

It's nowhere near as bad though.. In the US, social classes exist in schools, and the divide between classes is almost encouraged by the system

If this isn't a troll it's a very shallow, cruel and ill-informed post IMO.

Pity you weren't bullied at school to the same degree. Our gene pool would do fine without you.

Although a little cold, (s)he is I think fundamentally correct. I don't know what the full background is that Prince felt she could not go to anyone, not even her parents, to seek help, redress, advice or any other such, but for most people, Step #1 is not to hang one's self.

Although the problem of the bullying at the school is evident and needs dealing with, it's a bit hard to really say they bullied her to death.

    NTM

I think bully behaviour is everywhere. I think that teenagers need to be though to speak to there parents. I am guessing that there could of been underlying problems like "My mom and dad gave up everythying to bring me to the states - I cant tell them about this"

I was bullied terriable as a teenager. Its not easy. Its not the bullieing thats a problem its the fact that you are being put out on a pedestal for all to see. This is the part that kills you. I imagine this is the part that killed her. Mr popular asks her out. She feels great like she is settleing in. Then ms popular takes the p1ss out of her.

The exact same thing happens here. There is no point saying you get over it. You dont. You learn to deal with it through support of your parents and family.

I later learned that bullies come about through situations in there own life. Think about it. What is natural. To talk and get on with everyone or be a right bo11ix.

At her age I was bullied and teased for being the only girl in the "nerd" math class.

But at least when I went home I could get away from it. These days it seems the bullying can continue 24/7 on Facebook/Myspace and with texting.

There was another similar suicide realted to Myspace a year or so ago. That case was worse IMO because it was actually *the mother* of one girl bullying another girl online. It's just pathetic that a full grown adult would stoop to that level.

The woman ended up being charged in the girl's death.

How can you get bullied on facebook? Can you not just defriend someone who is a dick? Or is it that they set up hate groups?

You can send private messages to anybody on Facebook, I imagine that's how these pathetic excuses for human beings bullied this poor girl.

God help her, i hope she is at peace now. And that she can do awful things to those bullies from where she is....

Yes. They set up hate groups, or entire FB/MS/ pages devoted to taunting the target.

According to the article, they abused her in person, sent her texts, sent her messages on facebook - and after she comitted suicide - they left hateful comments on a facebook page made in her memory.

On the day she committed suicide - she obviously had had enough, and was seriously depressed on her way home - only for the cnuts to drive past, call her a slut and hit her with a can.

Anyone who thinks that these bullies are not to blame for her suicide is seriously deluded. Anyone who has been bullied in school knows how horribly gutting it can be, which leaves you lacking one iota of self confidence and in a serious state of depression - often forcing children to quit school.

Manic Moran and Smegmar don't have a clue. This isn't the wild. We aren't gazelles surrounded by lions. It isn't survival of the fittest. This is modern fúcking society, and not the stone age. People who drive children into serious depression like this are totally to blame, and need to be punished.

They'd throw words at you in school, asnd stones at you outside of school. I acknowledged that the only way to stop bullies was random violence. I looked up how the IRA used guerrilla warfare and used something like it against those who bullied me.

I don't condone those who go down guns blazing in american schools, but I understand why they do it.

You may have been bullied but to what degree...you probably had good friends to fall back on for support, this is a 15 year old girl in a new country and as said before its not just confined to school hours anymore.Very easy to say "sticks and stones ..."but as we all know words do hurt.

I don`t seem to remember getting a lesson in resisting insults as a child and now as a parent I would be very grateful if you could direct me to one of your parenting seminars.
