    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a Weights equivalent to the Cardio "Couch To 5K" Program?

I've noticed a lot of weight lifting orientated stuff out there doesn't just have any kind of straight forward plan, but they always seem to bang on about the history of weight lifting or how great it is, etc. whereas C25K is just a short intro on their site, and then just the program.

Is there any kind of recreational/beginners weight lifting kind of program that is known for being pretty good, but that is just a straight forward plan and no messing around. A bunch of exercises that are recommended doing and no history of how weights evolved to what they are today kinda filler stuff thrown in?

May be a silly question, but no harm in asking :)

    Starting Strength.

    :D

I think Westside 4 Skinny Bastards is one too
Might be a good idea to do body weight stuff too.

There are probably be other beginner programmes.
    Its not a silly question.

Couch to 5k is based around running, which is something that requires no equipment concerns and most people can do. But weights have a lot more concerns, so have to be thought through more carefully.
And you have to do it right or you can hurt yourself.
