What is the longest time you have spent downloading something?
Right now...Im into day 2 downloading something.....
But when you are...do you carry on roaming the net...slowing the download...or do you leave it alone and hope it goes a little quicker?

I left a large, completely legal ;) file downloading for about 3 days once. A friend of mine used every opportunity to leech a ~5gb torrent from a single seed with a bad connection - took him about a year and a half.

A couple of months. It was a fairly big file with only one seed. I thought I deleted it from utorrent as soon as I realised it only had the one seed. Only realised months later when utorrent flashed up saying it was completed.

I can get 5gb in 20 mins so i dont care about your problems :pac:

back in the good old days, 15 hours for a 1.2MB ROM of an SNES game. But what a game.

Actually I cant even remember what the game was. Couldve been megaman. That was a steep phone bill though.

With AlphaWave EVERYTHING takes about 6 weeks to download! Don't even try to watch a YouTube video! As for streaming...whats that???

Sorry... wrong thread for this rant :D lol

On topic, I've often (With AlphaWave) spent upto 3 / 4 weeks downloading anything thats over 1GB in size! (With a PC on 24/7)

Spent a few weeks downlaoding a 35G file which only ahd 1 or 2 seeders at the best of times. Was worth it in the end though. I've waited weeks to get my hands on an obscure film or show and as mcuh as I hate the waiting the sense of delayed gratification is immense once you watch the bloody thing.

Several days on 56k downloading a music video file (I had paused and resumed a number of times), ended up the zip file being corrupted. :(

About four hours downloading spiderman 3...may not be a long time...but it was probably the biggest waste of time..

Those halcyon days:eek:. Someone wanted the old "Saturday Night" Whigield? song downloaded a few years ago on dialup and it took about a day. When it was played, it was the Chinese version.:(

Ah lord Jesus, I remember the day when ye did have to use a download manager to get anything over 5mb down in one sitting. Mp3s used to take the best part of an hour to download, by jaysus you'd make sure what your downloading was worth listening to back then by god.
