I don't see why some people choose to hate chart music just because its on the charts.

Why are you making that assumption? I never said that. I don't like it because its sh*t, bland, soulless, predictable, contrived, repetitive, lowest-common-denominator drivel.

"Most inappropriate name on boards" ?

tbh, I don't really care for explaining why username is what it is, besides the 2 which is only temporarily there until my original account is verified.

Anyways, what's with the random unprovoked personal attacks? That's what the pm system is for! It's also what the ignore list is for too.

There's a lot of good music on the radio, would you call someone like Lady Gaga talentless and terrible?

I'm not asking if you like her or not, just do you think she makes music that people might like.

If Phantom FM didnt exist I wouldnt listen to the radio. Been through the other main ones at various stages in the last couple of years....Radio1 2FM 98 FM 104 Newstalk Spin 103.8 and have come to the conclusion that theyre all doing the same thing except at different times. Dont listen to Radio 1 anymore because they stopped broadcasting the League of Ireland, Music on 2FM other than Dan Hegarty is rubbish, same goes for 98 & 104. Newstalk just is a bit too serious for me and dont get me started on Spin 103.8!

TodayFM in the early morning, when I hear Darcy on the radio that means I should be in work so I get up. Other than that radio 1. 2FM is a waste of airspace, it has nothing of value on it.

At home it's usually last.fm online.

OMG like. SPIN is SOOOooo the best one like. I love hearing the same 10 tunezies every hour. I especially love the DJ accents and the the way they are SOoo like...... "OMG did you AC-TUALLY just say that??? And heres spins pointless sentence about the weather"

    Really though..
FM104 Freaks on friday is great before going out
Ray foley for a laugh in the afternoon
Used to listen to matt cooper until i realised all he does is talk about things that are really annoying to know. I am happier to not be reminded about how everyone is being bent over by the banks etc.

OOH Man...I can't stand Colm and Jim Jim for starters. Would usually listen to RTE 1 in mornings..probably followed by Newstalk(to escape the mental depression that is the Jooow Duffy show) and then prob RTE 1 again in evenings.
Dont get me wrong, Im not all into the serious **** but am I right in saying that the real music stations have gone downhill in a big way in the past 10 years?Replaced by muck top 50 countdowns etc..I dont know, twas better in the olden days.

I was just winding you up man, no need to call the barristers just yet..... If you are taking offense to that, maybe AH isn't the place for you? Personal attacks should be reported to a mod, which I'm sure you'll do. If you did put me on your ignore list (there's an ignore option?????) then you obviously aren't interested in discussion(sc???), in which case you should probably start a blog rather than posting on a forum where the idea is people can post back. 741.

none of the above as i can not stand irish radio. crap presenters, not one funny person on any station, all amature in the presenting style and crap mix of music. how many times can you hear the same boring top 15 songs at the moment with a mix of crap from 2000's, 1990's 1980's.

BBC Radio1 one every time wins hands down, Moyles in the morning, Mills in the evening, greg james & fearne cotton during the day. Music is great as you hear many more songs than any irish radio station can play due to the large number of adverts.

also can pick it up in the car on 99.7 :-)

I used to like bbc R1 a few years back, (the Chris & Dave Show was A1) but the last few times i listened in, i kinda felt old!?! it seems to be aimed at 17/18 year olds. i.e kids, aka the chart controllers!

I hated English radio, it makes me want to bang my head against the steering wheel repeatedly and run people over. It's so bland and middle of the road.
