    Sound out lad, sound out

Sorry, it was too poor sound to upload.

I uploaded two songs that are at least audible. I really need to get a decent phone. O have TZ7 camera for converts but Con's are fixing it.

I'm raging that I didn't have even if just for the audio. I'd love to have the the complete audio from the gig. Maybe he'll release it on CD.

There is very very little Bryan Adams live stuff on YouTube which leads me to believe that they keep a watch on it and get stuff removed very fast.

So I haven't uploaded this to my main YouTube account just in case they pull it like they did a year ago. I lost 150 or so concert stuff I had recorded (Bon Jovi in Punchestown, Springsteen in RDS etc) all because I uploaded a clip of Tommy Tiernan at Vicar St during the tour.

Anyway, brutal sound .. but here you go:

A few of us went again tonight and it was at least 50% better.

In what way was Friday better? I was at Thursdays show and while it was good I wouldn't class it as a stripped down acoustic gig. Most of the songs sounded the same but with something missing and on reflection after I think because he didn't really change the songs it was the band I missed. I love acoustic music and think that stripped down versions of Summer of 69 as an example would have sounded amazing. That aside though I'm a massive fan so of course I enjoyed the gig.

However those stewards were so ANNOYING!!! Part of gig going for me is taking photographs and I can understand flashes can annoy people but banning photos altogether is a step to far. IF this gig had being a really quiet gig I'd kinda understand. Leonard Cohen was one such gig but we could still take photos. I agree with the comment that photos come out better without flash and my camera is good enough to use without flash in most situations. That really put me in bad form and in a way ruined the night for me. The Olympia claimed it was Bryan who wanted photos stopped and we were even told before the gig that he had said if he saw anyone taking photos he would stop mid song and ask them to stop. I was watching his reaction for those lucky enough to not be near the stewards and he seemed unaffected by it. Although I was in the 2nd row I did manage to sneak 2 but they're not crystal clear as I didn't have time to focus the camera properly

Don't see how you wouldn't class it as 'stripped down'. He played half the songs with just an acoustic guitar?

As far as Friday being better, it was just a far more lively Friday night crowd. I'd it was 70% girls on Thursday and Friday it was only around 55% I'd say.

There wasn't as much things being shouted at him and people were quickly hushed when they did start yapping.

    Both nights were class.

It's only a temp channel I set up, not using main account.

Have you uploaded any of the gig?

Yep, uploaded a 50 sec clip of Straight from the Heart and it was gone within 4 hours. V good audio on it until mr fat bouncer interrupts with "turn it off".

I will upload it now to an alternative site so you can see;)

Sounds like I would have enjoyed Fri much more then. In regards youtube removing videos I don't know what is going on there as videos Leonard Cohens gig in the o2 are still there as I've just checked. I was told the issues are regards taking photos or videos at an indoor venue are something to do with copyright but surely then all indoor material would be removed?

It's all down to the artist.

You could upload Springsteen gigs all year long and not a problem.

You upload some artist on the same Label and you get banned,

Tommy Tiernan's and Billy Connolly's production companies watch YouTube like a hawk.

They threaten YouTube with legal action if your account is not closed.

So Bryan doesn't like videos or photographs being taken of himself. Coming by someone who is big into photogaphy that is hypocritical! Thank God Brucie isn't like that. Someone took the most amazing videos of his gig last July and they are still on Youtube. Do you get banned outright or are the videos first deleted and a warning given?

I have some of 2008 up:

Excellent stuff! Hope he comes back this year! I saw him at once 2008, once 2009 but next time plan on going to every gig he plays here. The great thing about him is he changes the setlist every night. I remember seeing Bryan in The Point in 2005 and 2007 and the setlists were identical. As I'd seen him in Galway in 2006 with a different setlist I didn't notice 'til he actually announced it midway through the gig!

He's not being hypocritical - he's a professional photographer, if you are then you'd seek permission to take pics at the gig.......at the end of the day it's the Artists choice (although a lot of the time it tends to be a misscommunication from the artists camp and the venue is then bound to do what they can to comply) take the recent WASP gig in the Button Factory.........
If you were the artist and you wanted to record and later release a gig on DVD or CD you would not want that gig to be already available on YouTube, it's as simple as that.......and I've no problem with that, but if that is the case then surely the Olympia Staff should only warn people once about using cameras - they seemed to be going to the same people over and over again - which defeats the purpose of going over at all...

As much as I like taking photos/vids of gigs I go to as nice memories or to share with a couple of friends that couldn't make it along, I'd like to think that I'd respect the wishes of whatever artist and I don't think it would take anything away from a gig.....

Of course I can fully understand acts who are recording not wanting stuff to appear on youtube first and that is quite right. I don't actually record at concerts but I confess I do enjoy watching others videos after. Photos are different though and I personally feel once someone is taking photos without flash they should be left alone unless it really is one of those intimate gigs and then fair enough. Having being at several BA concerts before and photos never being an issue I was just shocked and disappointed by what happened. However I have been lucky enough to have had some concert reviews I did published and I'm hoping that somewhere along the line I can include photography in this and hopefully obtain a press pass where I can snap to my hearts content. In fairness though to The Olympia they had numerous signs about photographs on the night both outside and inside the venue.

Yep, I'm with you there......if only others could get to the point where they turn the Flash off.....they don't seem to care that it's annoying for others too....

best of luck with the reviews & wouldn't a press pass be great ;-)
it's something I've considered, but just don't think I would be able to write reviews from an unbiased/outside viewpoint......

    P.S.
    just sent you a PM

I'd die and go to heaven if I had a press pass. It would mean I could finally get a professional camera and never have to worry about whether or not I'd be allowed to take photos PLUS FREE into gigs!!!! I can keep dreaming and hoping! Yeah reviewing can be difficult as I do tend now to be more objective at gigs and this can take away a bit of the enjoyment. I'm still working on my BA one. However I love music and I love writting so I'll continue to slave away in the hope I someday get proper recognition and a coveted press pass.:)

The piano player Gary was super.........no fancy set..............It was great.........he sounds just like on CD or even better if that is possible.........lol.............Brilliant!!
Started at 8.30 and finished at, It think 10.20.........such good value for money..........now you don't often get a chance to say that now in Ireland........one of my best nights out....defo!!

Did anyone here Ian Dempseys pre recorded interview on his breakfast show this morning? Another terrible interview by Iano, my 6 Year old would have conducted a better one. BA was cringing at some of the childish questions :( I remember a similar interview with Madonna 15 years ago, Tubridy is safe!

all i can say was what a brilliant concert. I saw him in Marley park a few years back but he was way better last night with it being an acoustic session.

    WOW!!!!
