Hello, my name is Augusto Pinochet. Where does I apply for job??

    :pac:

Real dictators don't apply for jobs, they create a vacancy and fill it.

Right latest briefing on our proposed coup..

Enda's Tigers will first take take hold of the command post - Biffos Bunker before moving east toward the capital. A close eye will needed on him as his is liable to go it on his own start cleansing...well anyone really.

Gerry will make his way south, stopping at every village to proclaim "this is entirely the fault of the British government". He is well experienced and is expected to make quick progress.

ALL food supplies will be cut off to Mary Harneys base. Troops are not to approach this area for fear of cannibalistic tendencies materialising

The south should prove no problem once they are told we are out to get the dubs. Michael Martin is expected to be found hiding under his kitchen table with his fingers in his ears. John O Donoghue is already after leaving the country for Dubai for a mission briefing - it is thought the rest of the cabinet know nothing of this briefing. It is thought that Jackie Healy Rae will attempt to repel our troops with his construction equipment but once assured of future building contracts will be easily turned.

Bertie will just offer money to sort this problem...troops are authorised to shoot on sight.

Willie O' Dea is going to prove problematic.

I'm pretty sure a coup against the elected government of the country is treason mate.

The IRA is your only hope... or something like them, and even at that, it took 13 innocent people to be shot in cold blood by the british army for anyone to grow a pair big enough to retaliate back then.
Whats going on in the south is imbeslement and inappropriate use of EU and government money by a small group of people to protect their own interests. Problem is, Irish people are pussies, and take everyhting thats dished up to them. One example is the smoking ban.... Immediate compliance... obey, obey, obey

No water for 5 days, NAMA robbing us and bailing out the f##kers who have taken our jobs and homes, governmant protecting bank shareholders with our grandchildrens earnings, taxes sorry "levies" increasing, Developers private assets protected but family homes reposessed, schools closed last week as the councils are without grit in more ways than one. etc. etc. etc......

Anyone know, able to persuade, or is there any general in the Irish Army willing to be a patriot and stand up for his country against its government? Can anything other than strong central command save us now???

You're dead right OP. Let's scrap Nama altogether and let our 3 biggest banks go to the wall and suffocate those surviving businesses who have somehow survived thus far by cutting off any chance of getting badly needed credit.

    Yeah. Brilliant.

And school's weren't closed because of a shortage of grit. The safety of children is paramount. No point in risking their safety when the days can be made up at other times during the year.

I dislike the government as the next man, but there's been a serious amount of juvenile, misinformed bandwagonry going on in Ireland over the last few months.

It's just so easy, people can't resist.

It gets tiresome to say the least.

Slightly off topic, and perhaps too serious for AH but in response to:

When the banks are flush with our money, they're not charities, who thinks they will resume flinging bags of cash at failing businesses?

Economic growth is generated by the transfer of wealth from one group to another, our problem could be that one group has all the cash already, let's start again?

The Army are already there. Just protecting the wrong sort.

How the hell do you think they make their profits?! Do you know anything about the banking system at all???

They couldn't last year because they had so much debt and a lack of cash flow. Was this their fault? Yes. Should we let them collapse to the detriment of the whole economy? Absolutely not.

Nama will clear out bad debts and put them into a consolidated big "bad" bank. The big 3, Aib, Boi and IL&P will then be free to starting shifting cash to business owners again.

The big 3 are businesses that are chasing profit. But without them, we would have practically zero economy and would be plunged into Developing World status very quickly.

I dont know where to start with this. Even for After Hours that is the most idiotic post I have seen in a long time. So to sum up, you plan to put in power a terrorist organisation that is heavily involved in drugs and violence, who only last week tried to murder a catholic, irish speaking member of the psni. You want to establish them in 'the south', that really shows your grasp of Ireland where you dont even know the name of the state.

Clearly a very intelligent post and poster

The 13 Colonies were ruled by an indifferent Monarchy with no direct representation for their people. We have a directly elected Parliament that a majority of the population voted for in 2007. There's a hell of a difference. I didn't vote for FF, the Greens or the PDs last time out but I still would defend their right to govern the country until they no longer have a majority or until the next general election in 2011.

Are the Irish people so juvenile that they want to start tearing up our Constitution now?

    .
Could just set up a state bank and lend money to businesses, rather than leave us and our descendants in debt until judgement day...

They will run out of steam eventually :)

Israel just offered to sell us weapons and supply 'advisors' (just like they did to georgia pre their attacks on south ossetia) so things are looking up!

Aye, my sensible reccomendation is that we need TRENT http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055716814&highlight=Trent ! He'll sort it all out. And in the meantime shoot everyone PEEEOOW PEEOWWW and have Sex with Mary Harney.

It'll never happen, the army and when you talk about the army you mean the officer class not the other ranks. The officers have been carefully kept non political over the years. When is the last time you met an ex army officer TD? Name one? There must be one or two but rare. A few FCA but rare is the ex army officer who goes into politics. It's not like that in other countries.

In any case it would be like the 1916 rising all over again only this time everybody would be a 'wearing of the green'. The Dublin units would take over and soon the Cork, Galway, Limerick, Curragh and Athlone battalions (Fianna Fail country) would be marching on Dublin to stick it to the Jackeens and free their local politicians. The Cork navy would send a gunboat up the river and blow up the spire. It would be all over in a week.

Not with that negative attitude it wont !

We greet them with Pikes carrying the heads of every ff'er and green in politics.

Although not a TD, our darling Ed Horgan is awfully political these days...

I'm still wondering how military rule can reduce our budget deficit. You've been reading too much Fredrick Forsyth OP.
