And the sad thing is your mother probably loves it.

    Being called Mam that is.

I just call them by their names. Always have done.

    I'm not big into titles.

Ma, mother if she doesn't answer and eventually I shout her real name to get her attention.

He's known as The Baldy Fat C*nt aka Waste of Space.

My own kids call me Ma, Mam, Mom, Mum, Mammy, Mommy, Mama, Moma and my real name. They won't just pick one and stick to it.

    Mam/Mum and Dad

My wee one calls me Mummy, have tried to get her to change to Mammy on numerous occasions to no avail :D

I notice in Galway LOADS of people use Mom (it bugs me a bit). Not sure if its a progression from the aul gaelige or an american thing (like calling trousers pants..but thats a story for another day )

    I call them my providers.

    For example.

"Male provider, how was work today?"

    or

"Female provider, what are you cooking for dinner?"

For me, it was always Mum n Dad, Dads gone now, so its just Mum, but when we're talking about Dad, now its become "the old man" or "The oulfella", Night Dad, Love ya.

I call them by their names, Liam and Breeda. And have done for several years. I blame my oldest sister for it, she started doing it and i soon i followed suit.

Ever since my kid was born I call my parents Nanna and Grandad as that what everyone is now calling them (brothers and sisters with kids). Save on confusion for the kids.

Mother - First Name (We used to work in the same place for a while so thats how that started)

Father - Da or his common nickname

Ma and Da. Always will. Could never call them by their first names, it'd just be too weird.

Mum and Dad. Their collective name is the renticles.

Their names are Barbara and Lonan, so if they're not paying attention to me, or I feel like winding them up, I call them Babs and Lonny (or sometimes The Cookie Monster or Lonster).

Would be weird if I always called them by their first names.

I don't think anyone outside Dublin (bar perhaps the counties bordering it) refers to their parents as "Ma"/"Da".

I'm originally from Wexford and I've always called my parents Ma and Da.

'What's for tea?' and 'Give us a lend of a tenner willya?'. They find it endearing.
