I meant to say Saturday. Silly me. I'm on my Christmas break and I'm never able to keep track of what day it is during the holidays.

Now on Max+ at EUR 34.00 pr month. Got a mail from UPC confirming...

I'm starting to like UPC and especially the person who helped me out Big Time :)

Thanks all for your support and tips the last couple of days :-)

I'm currently on Select+ (€31.99 per month) and I just called 1908 and was told that ESPN is part of the Max Package only and that it would cost €6.50 extra per month to upgrade to Max. Seems to be a bit different to what other people are being told.

    Had the same thing.
Last night i called UPC and i was informed i should get them soon but they were having some minor problems getting ESPN activated in my area (D7) that should be solved today latest.
Got of the phone and about 30 mins later i had a few disruptions in the signal, checked ESPN and there it was.

Just to confirm, my free ESPN has kicked in.
Had it this morning and I'm in D9.
SO there was definitely a delay as I got the ITV stations a few days back.
Good to see though so I'd say all you folks with Select/Max will get it soon if not already.

    Go here:
    http://www.upc.ie/deals/made_to_measure/
click the 'i' beside Select Extra and it says quite clearly that ESPN is free with this package.
Only Q is, is your 'Select+' the same as 'Select Extra'?
I'd assume so and 'Select +' is just the old name for it....as in, there is a Value, Select & Max pack. You are on Select so should get ESPN.

ESPN is part of the Select Extra pack (priced at EUR 32.00) as well as Max With Digital + priced at EUR 34.00. Select+ is the old pack I believe which wouldn't include ESPN. Correct me someone if I'm wrong...

Call UPC again and ask if they can change this for you. They are not a horrible bunch of people after all... ;)

UPC are very far from a bunch of horrible people :). I finally got sorted so thanks UPC.

The service is coming on leaps and bounds considering the mess it was in. In the recent past we have gotten dual recording, series link, HD and now extra channels. Its easy to piss all over them for the failings of previous regimes but I see all of this as progress.

I personally cannot wait until we have a really good VOD service but I guess I'm just being greedy :D

So, if I have ESPN for free (I previously had Max, so I presume I will), and also the HD box, does that mean ESPN HD is also free?

    Fingers crossed.

How much you have to pay extra?

Hope someone can help me...and i apologise in advance coz i'm clueless. I'm on digital max (i think), multiroom. Have the small black boxes that say chorus on them. I don't know what MMDS, PVR etc mean. Got ITV 2 and ESPN earlier in the week, but no ITV 3 or 4. Rang yesterday and was told that they are not in my area yet, they will be soon but she couldn't tell me when. But reading through this I see some can't or won't get them at all for whatever reason I don't understand! Can someone explain this a little better to me? Also, should i have more up to date boxes?

What pack are you on Sky Sports in a premium add on but for the basic channels there are four packs.
    Value no ESPN 20 euro
    Select no ESPN 27 euro
    Select Plus ESPN:D 30 euro
    Max ESPN also.

I have the family sports pack and according to this link

Espn should be included yet it has not yet been unlocked but I do have the Itvs.

Sounds like you are on MMDS - chances are you have a square mesh aerial mounted someone on your property. The MMDS system doesn't have as much capacity as a direct, wired cable connection - essentially they have less space on MMDS in which to broadcast channels so they can't offer you as many channels on MMDS as they can on cable.

MMDS customers get a cut down version of the service cable customers receive with fewer channels. Chances are you won't get ITV 3 or ITV 4 at any time in the near future, unless UPC decide to replace another channel with them.

In the same boat - send them an email on Monday - no reply! from reading the other postings your best bet is to phone which is what I shall be doing first thing in the morning - want to see the 5.30 game on Saturday !

I'm not a UPC subscriber as I have Sky HD, but those of you who have the HD and SD plus boxes with UPC, can you record ITV 2,3, and 4, and BBC HD?

Thanks. Ok yeh see what you're saying. But don't understand why there's a difference, any particular reason they couldn't or wouldn't have used a direct cable connection? And I pay the same as someone who does get all the channels? Sorry, shur i'll just give them a ring!
