Then have his eyes gouged out. The have him hung, burned, Minced up, lightly peppered and fed to hungry Tigers. The the Tigers poo should be burned, and the send the ashes to the bottom of the sea.

Tha sorta stuff doesn't bode well with me. If anyone thinks that's "Too Rough" I have no problem talking some sense into you via boards PM.

Sorry, but I was so FOOOOKING angry when I saw that on the news I nearly punched the TV.

let him without sin cast the first stone?

Im always facintated by peoples torture fetishes, sure if the man is guilty he's an evil basterd, but a normal person would want to just beat the crap out of him and would prob not be able to stop himself and go to far ie beat him to death. that seems more normal to me

    More than likely.

Probably from the same section of the population that ripped the signs of Pediatricians clinic walls with outrage back in the 90's

I think he deserves the harshest punishment possible. At least 20 months in a prison WITHOUT a gym, and a non-en-suite cell with an uncomfortable mattress and a small window. And a TV with only 4 channels. And only DIALUP Internet. That'd teach the bastard.

Right, so that's torture, arson, and murder. It's okay though, because it's not rape. (Edit: You may have been being sarcastic...*cringe*)
Exactly who, as members of society, oppose the existence of capital punishment?

Can someone tell me that this person, if found guilty, deserves to live?

I do. What kind of backwards society says that "Yeah, killing is wrong. To show this, we're going to kill the criminal as punishment"...?

This is quite clearly a horrifying and disgusting crime. However, people suggesting torture and capital punishment is crazy talk, by all means have varying degrees of imprisonment for more serious crimes (perhaps almost-permanent solitary confinement for cases like this), but going down the road of public beatings/executions is a bad, bad way to deal with it.

I was moved when I saw The Mission and around 1000 other films. Idont need to watch a film about abuse to get an emotional response.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve done a lot of living and I appreciate that there is a need to discuss certain wrongs and ill and of course people who have suffered need and deserve to have a voice and we need to hear what they have to say and attempt to understand it not just for the person involved but also as a society to prevent things like this from happening in the future (we all have a moral obligation).

For me to go and see a film like the one discussed earlier would simply not be my idea of a good night. I'm sure it would have moved me but only in that it would have depressed me, I’m sure it was well made but there are so many things that are well made yet serve no purpose.

As I have said before there are so many sad and evil things in this world that I don’t believe I will ever feel the need to have to pay to appreciate them.

Hunger is one of the best films I've ever seen, and that deals with a very serious and disturbing topic. I don't believe the subject of a film should influence whether one should watch it or not.

If you cut someone's balls off through castration as a punishment for rape & murder, please remember that they can still f*ck & murder you against your own will.

Surely it would be best to try him in court & apply an appropriate custodial sentence, should he be proven guilty of either or both of the charges.

Does nobody else think that the "hell, boys, I'm gonna get me a lynching", reaction, is just a TAD wild west?

Yes the life of an innocent defenceless 15month old baby is worth more than that of a (if he is actualy guilty) sickening, inhumane sack of shít.

    That's mighty white of you.

Put him in jail with toughened criminals who have babies of their own and let them know his crime.

He will suffer a terrible death, hopefully slow and painful.

OR, let flys blow him and the maggots eat him alive..slow and painful

Slowly dip him in acid(thats VERY slowly)

Yeah, nothing shows how disgusted we are at an act of brutality by outdoing the severity of the original crime!

Good thing we know who's the sadist with no regard for human life, right guys?

    right?

So a fifteen month old persons life is more important than, say, a fifty five year old persons life?

    I don't think so.

Children, especially those under 2 years of age are the most vunerable people in society, and it is our duty as adults to protect them from the evils in the world. The law provides specific protection for children, for example the various sexual offences acts. When an adult does to a child what was done to the poor girl in this article, it is in my opinion (and I'd imagine most other people's opinion) the single most heinous act a human being can do. A 55 year old person has a chance to offer some resistance to an attack - a 15 month child is completely defenceless. This is why there is more general outporuing of anger when you hear of a child being murdered rather than a healthy 35 year old man for example - that is not to say that the killing of an adult shouldn't carry any lesser penalty though.

To take it further, a 55 year old has had 55 years to live their life, the girl in the article has had her's snatched away from her before she could even begin to appreciate life.

A PSNI Detective Inspector said medical staff at the Erne hospital in Enniskillen where Millie Martin was admitted in a lifeless condition may have been sexually assaulted sometime before she died.

Such crap english in a horrible story.. This sort of stuff should be proof-read before being released.
According to that line, the medical staff were assaulted.

I know some of the non-ironic torture fantasies don't look too different to the above, but I think, given the highlighted bit, it's obvious this is a piss-take. It also made me lol. :o

I empathize with nurses, doctors, and hospital staff who encounter child abuse more frequently than is reported by the sensationalizing media.

People like this should be stoned/executed/hung in public, like the way the Iranians do it. Priests or indeed anyone getting 15 months to 3 years for sexual abuse makes me sick to the core.

A public execution in front of the papel cross in Phoneix Park would be the perfect site for one. I'd have my popcorn on hand anyway

A horrific incident this was. What sort of animal could do this to a small defenceless
    child?

I just hope that this is dealt with, and severely. If guilty of this crime, a lengthy
prison term. It's just a pity that we do not have special laws for specific and heinous crimes like these.

I wonder what Red Herring will be thrown into the trial by this man and his defence team?

The mother has come out and said that the childs back was not broken. and that she never received any visits from Social Services, apart from a routine visit about 5 weeks after MIllie was born.

I just hope the truth come out in this case
