O RLY? thank you for using your super-mod powers to stare into my very soul and identify the defect which makes me a broken human being. clearly if only I had believed in Santy into my 20s I wouldn't be the this cynical, joyless, shell of a man...

or alternatively, stick your stupid, glaringly false assumptions up your hole mister

He's not a mod in this forum, he's a regular poster.

But you sir are banned for trolling and abuse.

    1. What kind of kid at the Santa believing age stays up to watch the late late show?

    2. If a kid of that age group does stay up late enough, it's the parents fault for bad parenting. Don't know a kid 10+ who believes in santa.

You're all idiots. Don't be fooled by this:

    Gabriel Byrne is Santa Clause.

... and just like that, he's gone.

Came across as a gimp. Tubridy telling him out straight that there would be kids watching (including his own probably) and Byrne just grinning back at him like he's on acid or something, would it have killed him to just play along?

Ah Gabriel Byrne is a ledge. He is easily one of the best actors Ireland has ever produced. And the fact that he only arrived in Hollywood at the age of 40 shows he has balls, real balls.

But dont you see?, parents today are absolved of all responsibility in raising their kids. Its the TV that does the rearing and if anything or anyone on TV deviates from the accepted norms then all hell breaks loose.

    the mind will protect itself.
if a kid hears that santa does not exist and the parents say he does. They will believe them.

sure i found all my christmas presents as a kid one year. totally ignored the fact. Only remembered it years later.

errrm what kind of kid stays up to watch the late late show?? not many i'd say, especially to watch someone as boring as gabriel byrne, think about it it's not exactly something you'd be begging your parents to let you stay up for.

when i was a kid i wanted to stay up late so i could watch films or stay outside playing with the others in the neighbourhood, the late late show or the like never came into the equation! and if it did i'm sure i'd have been bored to sleep in no time :pac:

I mean come on?! What was he thinking?! I know loads of kids who stay up to watch the late late on a friday night...scrooge

Tell me A Panda, did you find the other topics he covered equally or more upsetting perchance?

we must have been different kinds of kids, the thought of watching it never occured to me as something worth doing & i have to say i don't know any children who do watch it these days either, although granted i don't know a lot of children!

i think i rememeber being at home sick with a chest infection when i was quite young, and my gran had radio 1 on. there was someone talking about christmas presents and being able to afford santa gifts and i remember thinking that's kind of odd but my gran was quickly able to placate me back into the secure belief that he was actually real. only for that belief to be shattered several years later by my big sister and her best bud:(

I can only assume those who ditch Gabriel Byrne either
    1/ Know nothing about him
    or
    2/ are insane

Its only one of the millions of reasons I said she's the "sweetest 14 yr old", now I'm not going to develope upon this for you or anyone else's entertainment.

In regards the show, another great show by Ryan T.

Mak, this is not an attack on you/your daughter, but i'm astounded a 14 year old stills belives in "santa claus" as i would say all her friends etc know the truth.

But tbh a little bit of you dies when you find out he's not real :(

He was just having a laugh to lighten things up a bit, I mean he was talking about clerical abuse before then but that I suppose that doesn't have anything to do with children.

Ad the youngest of 6 I was constantly being reminded he wasn't real but

we only had rte1, rte2 and utv3 so It wasn't like we had a selective choice + Gay Byrne was a ride
