Fair play to ya Bertie, you've pissed off AH better than any supertroll ever could.

Yes, he wouldn't have a clue what I'm talking about, but those would be my exact words.

You wanker, you presided over an unprecedented period of prosperity yet you managed to leave the country in the shít.

You did this by never never never confronting anyone anytime anywhere.

You caved in to every fcuking vested interest and moved the deck chairs around the Titanic, while cultivating a coterie of liggers, wideboys, three card trick artists and fcuking minor 'celebrities.

    GTFOOH

    plus a fcuking million

Yes, I agree. I'd blame the Minsiter for Finance for the boom years. What's his name again....?

    Oh...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Did actually meet him - he walked up to me a few years back at the end of Grafton St to shake my hand with the cameras behind him - kept both hands in my pockets!

Oh yeah, I forgot about that: this is the same Patrick Bartholomew Ahern who told those who were questioning his economic policies before the crash (July 2007) to go off and commit suicide. Classy little fellow indeed is this Professor Patrick Bartholomew Ahern (NUI Maynooth)

Yeah. Of course he's being ably abetted in this fiction by the Irish Independent/Sunday Independent; in fact they're doing pretty much all the work on his behalf.
Their main concern, of course, isn't really the legacy of Bertie Ahern; it's an attempt to cover their arses after they implicitly supported him over the last ten years and did so explicitly before the last election.
Brian Cowen, naturally, is the fall guy in this narrative; all ills can be traced back to his assuming the mantle of Taoiseach.
The sad thing is that so many are willing to believe this and still buy this rag; where they can read the thoughts of the aforementioned Senator Eoghan Harris.

Bertie had a book signing in Waterford on Monday and crowds turned up to it, all fans it would seem.

Headline for the article in the local paper stated "Bertie still has 'em eating out of his hand".

Says it all really. You get what you deserve. It would make you want to cry. I think I'll get a tissue.

I'd love to say i'd be cool and clam and tell him what i though of him, but blind rage would take over, it would just be a string of expletives and afterward i'd regret not taking a swing at him.

and for being there for the signing of the good friday agreeement, even though the hardest of the work was done long before he got a sniff of taoiseach.
i'd ask him how come he can't get a tax clearance certificate (which everyone seeking to take a seat in the dail is meant to have) in years while i got mine in 3 weeks. odd that!
