The gas thing about this one is it was written on the outside wall of the methadone clinic in Dun Laoghaire where I always used to see the junkies cueing in the morning. I really hope it was one of them that wrote it.

    Bastardised from Karl Marx.

My friend told me about graffiti he saw in the men's toilet in a pub that said:
"I give to you my ass"

and underneath it, in different pen

    "you can keep it"

There was a sign off one of the roundabouts off the M1 to Baile Gaire - Garristown, that had letters changed and added (they were the peelable black letters) to say Be Gaire arsetown.

    ''If £100 you can afford,
please feel free to pull the cord,
If £100 you do not own,
    Leave the fúcking thing alone''

I remember last year in Tara Street station there was a giant ad for iphones on a billboard, and somebody had sprayed "Fu@k the recession..." underneath it. Thought it was brilliant!

My brother stole one of those orange road signs that said "Major road works ahead. Delays possible."

Him and his mates scratched some of the letters away and stuck it on his bedroom door. My mam wasn't impressed cause it now says "Major head - lays possible":D

And read the writing on the walls

There used to be a children crossing sign like this on Clyde Rd in D4 with the Grim Reaper sprayed over it, we seen it there for months and one morning in the paper someone won €100 for sending it in. Always bring your camera to work!!!

Also a road sign that said-
    Tramps Ahead

First prize has to go to the wag who wrote over a toilet roll holder in the Gents in UCD's Arts block, with an arrow pointing down to the toilet paper:

Arts degree dispenser. Please take one

This was in a book of graffitti -

There was an advertising campaign by a shipping company for their container traffic port at Harwich on the east coast of Engand.
Their slogan was "Harwich for the continent".
The nearby town of Frinton was a noted retirement town.

Underneath the sign "Harwich for the continent"
someone had written "Frinton for the incontinent"

Always hated the knobs in college with the usual things like "free da weed" or "don't drink and drive, smoke weed and fly". Yeah, you smoke, well done, no need to announce it to the world you morons!
I find Dublin is littered with absolute gems though, saw this on Merrion Square the other day, absolutely amazing even if it is on the lowest level of humour, pure childishness but absolutely amazing!!!

A stop sign in my avenue has had hammer-time graffiti-ed on it for the past 5 years!!!

My personal fav though is "Fighting for peacing is like fuc*in for virginity"
    :D

That 'STOP- HAMMERTIME' sign always makes me laugh. It's Tipp town your talking about, right?

You know those brown tourist board signs that you get on the approach roads to towns? The ones that have little symbols for restaurants, hotels, camping, churches etc? Well, on one of the roads that lead into the town where I live, someone had drawn a caravan onto the sign, with the word 'KNACKERS' underneath it.

In fairness, we do have a lot of 'members of the travelling community' living here.
    :D
