Oh man I'd love that job. Clamping people, fining people, can you think of anything for satisfying? I can't!

Transport for London which had a central number for people who had their cars towed for illegal parking within the M25. I used to work in the call centre taking those calls. I always answered those calls with "Transport for london vehicle tracing, HOW CAN I MAKE YR DAY". Then if I found the vehicle had been picked up and impounded, tell them where it was, what documents to bring, AND £280!!!!! cash or credit/Debit card......the abuse I got over the phone was unreal. so Warning do not ever park illegally in london cos the guys picking up vehicles are on a bonus system

Yeah its a pain in the butt, especially when they are right you just want to kick them in the head anyway.
I got a ticket on my wedding day, I was a little late and parked the car outside the church in the yellow box, generally reserved for wedding and funeral cars, I had the ribbons on the car and everything and still came out to a ticket, didn't mind got p*ssed anyhow.
Is that in the new edition of The Rules of the Road?

Did you ever see a ticket on a hearse, although with some of the wardens out there it is only a matter of time.

Better clarify why I'm so pissed off actually..

Just a month ago, I payed 90euro for the car "being out of tax". The car was taxed and had the tax disc in the car.. The retard couldn't see that the insurance and NCT were on the top of the windscreen and the tax on the bottom.

Between fixing the thing, paying 2400euro insurance, 155 euro every 3 months on tax and 30-40 a week on fuel, these stupid fines are killin me. Can't wait to just get rid of the thing as much as I love it.

Way way way too expensive to own a car in what should be a first world country. We're riddled no matter what we try to do.

Aww come on now, the Brian Cowen needs the cash...

There was a bit of construction work going on in the car park down by the train station near me... they were making the car park bigger. One of the first mornings after it started I was walking past the station to see one of the workers standing beside his bulldozer on the phone looking pissed off.

When I got past him I turned around and noticed his bulldozer had been clamped for being parked across 3/4 spaces :pac:

I'm not sure where they were expected to park overnight! But since then workers just put cones around the vehicles when they're parked at night.

    .

    Surely you could appeal that?

Why shouldn't wardens give a ticket, or even clamp, a hearse? If they're causing an obstruction they pay the same fine as everyone else.

Respect for the dead (who, by the way, aren't the ones paying the ticket so they don't give a ****) does not over-ride consideration for the living. In fact the dead rank very low on the things worthy of respect.

I'm a strong believer of "If you don't like the rules of the road get off the fcking road".

29 posts in and I was beginning to wonder if you'd clarify things or not. Why do you pay so much and then park illegally...? Assuming you did par illegally of course. It's not very clear.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Well I do apologise for being pissed off but I parked there last night and came out this morning..

I'm actually ready to punch a wall but thats a terrible idea.

    Just be careful.
Wall-punching is punishable with a 40 euro fine.

The Lenihan and the Cowan have imposed a 40 euro fine on all jokes.

You think thats bad, the cunts once clamped an ambulance outside Dublin airport... and they wouldn't take it off until the fine was paid

I also remember reading a story of a clamper who refused to follow the direction of a garda, when a man who was rushing his child to hospital with a suspected case of meningitis. The guard had to pay the release fee before he would let them go.

I thought they were urban legends until I read the BBC news article you linked. Wow. No wonder they say common sense isn't all that common.

It was at half 9 in the morning and outside a friends house.. I meant to get up and move it at 9 but only got down at twenty five to ten.

I couldn't have payed and displayed last night I don't think... Even then, I meant to be up at 9 but hangovers are a bitch.
