I swear to fuk, the fact that they have the worst job in society and the fact that they know it is the only thing that's keepin me sane right now.
Park the car at a friends house and come out at half nine to that.

I'd shlt in his throat if I could.

They put it up to 80 in Dublin cause at 40 euros a lot of people weren't paying and it generally isn't worth pursuing them through the courts for that amount.

    Cheek of those wardens.

Perhaps you should ring up and say you have a magic pass that allows you to park wherever you want and the warden will get sacked.

I was gonna mention stalking but I might get in trouble. Seriously though, tackle the politicians who come to the door, they love the guy who mumbles "uh hu, my dad votes for you", be the guy who says "you are a ****ing disgrace, wtf is with this fine?!?!?!"

Hate that. My two sisters were both clamped while they ran into the shop to get something. They were only two minutes in the shop and it only took the clamper that to get the two clamp's on their cars.
I could not stop laughing. There is free parking 1 minute walk down the road, pure lazyness.
They wont be doing it again. :-)

Wow... don't they know who you are ?

Surely with your huge contribution to Irish society you have been granted the freedom of the city, which entitles you to park anywhere.

OP you need to get yourself down to Lidl or Aldi and pick yourself up 4 wheel clamps. Then any time you park where you shouldn't you can clamp your car yourself.

They can't clamp you if you're already clamped. ;)

Just make sure you don't write yourself a ticket. ;)

Yeah its a pain in the butt, especially when they are right you just want to kick them in the head anyway.
I got a ticket on my wedding day, I was a little late and parked the car outside the church in the yellow box, generally reserved for wedding and funeral cars, I had the ribbons on the car and everything and still came out to a ticket, didn't mind got p*ssed anyhow.

Well take solace in the fact that you were probably still over the limit and could have been done for drunk driving on the way home!

I'm thinking a 5euro lump of round steak from tesco fried up with some onions and pepper sauce.. Just a massive steak on a plate.

Was going to buy a deep fat fryer today so I could make battered garlic mushrooms myself but this fine has fuked that plan sideways.

It would be the best thing to ever happen to me.. I need to sell the car to start saving to go abroad next year.
Problem is I don't have the willpower to sell the car.

If I got caught the next morning, I'd be in Thailand in 12 months..

I got clamped and had to pay €100 fee on the first night moving into my new apartment. Fcuk em all... Sure I didn't pay and display but what right does that give you to clamp ME! AAAGGGHHHH:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I got a ticket recently, and I saw the warden from a distance as he was filling out the ticket and putting it under the wiper. When I got to the car I saw the €40 fine... so I went to the nearest parking meter and bought a parking ticket, and went straight to the governement services centre where they cancelled my parking fine, as the time difference was only a minute... apparently they give you 10 minutes.

By the way, a deep fat frier is slow suicide my friend... try making a Thai green curry instead, its the biz and its easy to make

Better clarify why I'm so pissed off actually..

Just a month ago, I payed 90euro for the car "being out of tax". The car was taxed and had the tax disc in the car.. The retard couldn't see that the insurance and NCT were on the top of the windscreen and the tax on the bottom.

Between fixing the thing, paying 2400euro insurance, 155 euro every 3 months on tax and 30-40 a week on fuel, these stupid fines are killin me. Can't wait to just get rid of the thing as much as I love it.

Way way way too expensive to own a car in what should be a first world country. We're riddled no matter what we try to do.

They can tow you away. Surely the OP's friend has a few visitor passes in the house or god forbid the OP has a bit of money to pay for parking. Clamping is a necessary evil.

Transport for London which had a central number for people who had their cars towed for illegal parking within the M25. I used to work in the call centre taking those calls. I always answered those calls with "Transport for london vehicle tracing, HOW CAN I MAKE YR DAY". Then if I found the vehicle had been picked up and impounded, tell them where it was, what documents to bring, AND £280!!!!! cash or credit/Debit card......the abuse I got over the phone was unreal. so Warning do not ever park illegally in london cos the guys picking up vehicles are on a bonus system

Did you ever see a ticket on a hearse, although with some of the wardens out there it is only a matter of time.

There was a bit of construction work going on in the car park down by the train station near me... they were making the car park bigger. One of the first mornings after it started I was walking past the station to see one of the workers standing beside his bulldozer on the phone looking pissed off.

When I got past him I turned around and noticed his bulldozer had been clamped for being parked across 3/4 spaces :pac:

I'm not sure where they were expected to park overnight! But since then workers just put cones around the vehicles when they're parked at night.

Why shouldn't wardens give a ticket, or even clamp, a hearse? If they're causing an obstruction they pay the same fine as everyone else.

Respect for the dead (who, by the way, aren't the ones paying the ticket so they don't give a ****) does not over-ride consideration for the living. In fact the dead rank very low on the things worthy of respect.

I'm a strong believer of "If you don't like the rules of the road get off the fcking road".

29 posts in and I was beginning to wonder if you'd clarify things or not. Why do you pay so much and then park illegally...? Assuming you did par illegally of course. It's not very clear.

You think thats bad, the cunts once clamped an ambulance outside Dublin airport... and they wouldn't take it off until the fine was paid

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4268353.stm

I also remember reading a story of a clamper who refused to follow the direction of a garda, when a man who was rushing his child to hospital with a suspected case of meningitis. The guard had to pay the release fee before he would let them go.

I couldn't have payed and displayed last night I don't think... Even then, I meant to be up at 9 but hangovers are a bitch.
