I've danced a few time like at wedding and house partys. I SUCK!

So do most people who dance in night clubs. There is nothing to worry about.

If you don't know any of these moves, then you're probably a bad dancer

Once you have a little rhythm op you'll be fine, even if you're just standing at the bar and bopping slightly to start off. It really does help to dance to a song you love first, it'll come naturally. You don't have to do anything elaborate.
My cousin has absolutely no sense of rhythm, I saw her at a wedding once in a circle of friends, she just kind of walked about with her arms slightly outstretched by her sides and she got away with it. Lots of fellas never dance, they just stand by the edges of the floor and bar and drink while the girls all throw shapes.
Alcohol does help enormously with confidence but if you don't drink everyone will think you're drunk anyway..so if you feel you look silly (you probably won't) just keep thinking everyone thinks I'm plastered so it doesn't matter.
    Have a great night:).

Don't worry yourself trying to work out how to dance in the nightclub.

It seems it's the least worry of the majority of fellas, so you certainly won't be in the minority!

    Few guys can dance properly.

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
Put your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
    But it's the pelvic thrust
    That really drives you insa-a-a-ane
Let's do the time warp again!

just go out and enjoy yourself my man and don't worry about what others think

I got the same advice myself. Worked wonders.

It's not as if people are gonna leave the DF as soon as you start dancin.

Most people will probably be too blitzed to care anyway. :)

just dance like noones watching, cos chances are noone will be(no offence).or search latest musics vids on youtube, songs that you think may be played and see what the back up dancers are up too.just my two cents.

Ok, finally for some constructive advice. There are a few well known styles of dancing. They are, as follows:

    1) General dancing, basically an extension of tapping your foot, except with your whole body. Something like Chandler's dance, but not so weird. Some people look alright, most people look quite silly, but no-one watches other people dance so it's ok.
    2) The 'act out what the song is saying' dance. Perform actions along with the song, like charades. Regularly implemented during Queen songs.
    3) The awkward guy using the well known dance moves, laughing along. Some people who aren't drunk enough to dance properly, use moves such as 'the funky chicken' or 'the twist', and then look around at their friends laughing, before moving onto 'the mashed potato'.
    4) The baby-maker. Find a lovely lady, then stand behind her, and let her do the work. This means you can basically stand on the spot, and look like you're dancing.
    5) The actual dance to the song: do the dance to the song, like in Thriller, the YMCA, or the Macarena.

Feel free to add to this list

    6) The robot dance!

Seriously, I would be more embarassed to be dancing well at a nightclub! Everyone is there to stumble around drunkenly thinking they're brilliant but having fun anyway, not to actually display any rhythmic skills...

I tend towards dancing right out the door to the nearest quiet bar with a jukebox and a pool table.

If all else fails you cant beat the 'shake the dice' move!

Anyway, its a know fact between all girls that a guy that is a good dancer is not so good else where (if you catch my drift :D)
