We haven't had trick or treaters for the past 3 years or so, yet my Mam always insists on buying loads of chocolate and sweets and stuff "just in case".

Which means I get to eat it all! :D

One set of three (pretty sure it was 3 of the 4 sisters from the family at the top of the street) and one set of two. The second lot had a car waiting for them outside

10-15 (knocks at the door), I think.

    Each one a group.

    Lost count, tbh.

    None, and I'm disappointed.

They're only kids out having fun. I remember being that age in my witch's mask (the real hard ones that'd take out an eye and had no mouth-hole), black plastic bag, pound-shop pointy hat (with the orange or green plastic pube-like hair attached) and lipstick and looking forward to it for weeks and weeks.

As usual, you'll have a few scumbags ruin it for everyone but I have a stash of Roses here for anyone who calls and Wispa Golds for anyone in homemade costumes.

I had one group this year and gave them the usual helpings of taytos, bars and sweets, I also gave them like €5 in change, I don't know whether it is done in the cities or not but in the country sometimes you also give money as it has such a resemblence to the "Wren boys on St. Stephens day. I had none last year so getting some this year made it more like Halloween!

Back in the day, I was lucky if I got an orange:pac:

None, but I live in a scumbag estate and if my neighbors want anything they'll steal it rather then asking me

Hey if you owned a motorcycle that was vandalized/attempted robbery in four months, you'd be as cynical as me!

Now, St Stephens Day we'll have the wren boys around singing a song. They'll get a few quid from me no problem

It wasn't too bad. Only four groups and for a change they all seemed to be young kids who had actually dressed up and had an adult with them.

We stopped answering the door years ago though because most of the callers seemed to be older kids from other housing estates who didn't even dress up were just taking the opportunity to go door to door looking for money. They'd also repeatedly ring the door bell and hammer on the door. Some of them would even go around a couple of days early, presumably so that they could cover more housing estates.

About eight groups in total, am working through the Lidl sweeties left over as I type. All nice, polite children, including one cutie who asked me if I'd like to go to the party in her house!!

4 knocks I think, still have loads of sweets left though.

    "The robin in the garden,

    That was me,

    I'm still here, Loving you..

    Until we meet again. "

Got 4 groups - they took a sh*tload of sweets off my hands, there's still a load for me to finish.
    My stomach hurts:(

    Not one!....

Had about forty last year, and almost ran out of goodies, so I said "Well that's not happening this year"....

Now what in the name of God am I supposed to do with a three and a half kilo bucket of sweets, along with four, one kilo bags of chocolate bars, and 54 bags of crisps...

I got one knock with 2 kids. Me and my bf were hissing 'you open it, no you open it' and then they knocked really hard so I had to answer it. And then we grabbed our coats, jumped in to the car and drove at high speed to his mams house earlier than planned (2 1/2 hrs earlier) so we wouldn't have to answer any more knocks! :D

About 10 groups of 5...and then at 9:00pm a group of slutty dressed 13 year olds and some fat girl who waddled out my gate..

We had a steady stream of callers from 4.30 until about 7 - must say they nearly all said 'Thanks' and were in great spirits. Lots of cute little witches and princesses but pity so few were in home made costumes. Nice to see so many of them enjoying it and having fun before we read the horror stories in the morning about the scumbags stoning the firemen or throwing cats on bonfires.

Somewhere around 6 I'd imagine. We used to get a lot more but the kids in my estate have grown up and no younger families moved in to replace them. I think those in my age group were effectively the last trick or treaters around here. :(

I don't think it will be long until my estate will become the estate with all the old people.

It been alot busier than recent years down my way, clearly parents feeling the pinch ordering there kids that they better come back with a few mini smarties, because that's there dinner for the next week :P

Had around 7-8 groups call round, all very polite indeed.

Not a one, what is the world coming to? now who will eat all the sweets and drink all the beer I had for them? :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Apartment so not very conducive to it.

But I was well stocked up tonight because of the trick-or-treaters last year who called me a "fucking cunt" for not having stuff in (I forgot) and then the block got egged.

Only one visit - a bunch of kiddies in their little costumes with their parents. So damn cute. :o

They hit the jackpot with me...

NONE! Not a bloody one, what's going on?!

I made cookies and everything & we got not a single doorbell. We heard voices & ran out clutching our lanterns & "whoooooo!"ing and just managed to give the neighbours another reason to move. :o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,595 ✭✭✭The Lovely Muffin

We got 0. Just as well as we'd forgotten to get stuff in for them.

Mind you, I looked out the window a few times and only once we saw some kids on their way home. There was about four 5-6 year olds with one adult.

The fireworks and bangers stopped going off about 9-10pm too.

We got about 4 I think. This rain is relentless. It's been pounding down at the same pace for about 4 hours.
