I got 1 at about six o clock. The little guy was with his mother. Must have been his first time going out :D

I doubt I'll get anymore as it's raining now.

we got two groups of three and a group of five!
the group of five ran into the house when i went to get the sweets and started falling around, screaming and running into the walls!
i didn't even invite them in i said "wait there a minute" and then they all ran in!was funny though!
    nearly broke my doorbell aswell!

Lost count. Had one group of 9 and another of 8. And lots of smaller groups of 2 and 3.

    So at least 14. :)

About 8 or 9 groups of people. Halloween hasn't been noticeably quieter over the past 2 or 3 years.

None so far, and if they can climb over a six foot gate and out run two alsations, I'll gladly give them a few sweets.

    None

And the little snot nosed scumbags wont be getting anything from me if they do call, these are the pr!cks that hassle civilised society 364.5 days of the year.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,431 ✭✭✭✭Saibh

Had 3 groups - only knew one of the group of kids that called.

Some of them had already a full bag of sweets - there might be some hyper kids tonight if they eat half of what they got.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,754 ✭✭✭Odysseus

I got over 30. I don't mind most of the kids on my estate are fine with the exception of one who screams at me everytime she sees me heading into the field beside me to hunt. She came nowhere near me for some reason

Almost 1 bunch, but they ran off when they saw the Bratwurst hanging out the letter-box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭Cheerilee

when I take my kids out they only go into houses that have Halloween decorations that way they know they are kid friendly in that house..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 237 ✭✭Allison91

Around 6/7 groups, not bad.still lots of chocolate left..
Even though I wasn't impressed with one group because they weren't even wearing costumes and they were as tall as me, it was weird..wish I didn't give them anything. Halloween Grinch :D

None. I live on a main road and I don't think people are sure who lives in our house so they don't come a knockin'.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,148 ✭✭✭✭KnifeWRENCH

We haven't had trick or treaters for the past 3 years or so, yet my Mam always insists on buying loads of chocolate and sweets and stuff "just in case".

Which means I get to eat it all! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,867 ✭✭✭Demonique

One set of three (pretty sure it was 3 of the 4 sisters from the family at the top of the street) and one set of two. The second lot had a car waiting for them outside

10-15 (knocks at the door), I think.

    Each one a group.

    Lost count, tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,600 ✭✭✭00112984

    None, and I'm disappointed.

They're only kids out having fun. I remember being that age in my witch's mask (the real hard ones that'd take out an eye and had no mouth-hole), black plastic bag, pound-shop pointy hat (with the orange or green plastic pube-like hair attached) and lipstick and looking forward to it for weeks and weeks.

As usual, you'll have a few scumbags ruin it for everyone but I have a stash of Roses here for anyone who calls and Wispa Golds for anyone in homemade costumes.

I had one group this year and gave them the usual helpings of taytos, bars and sweets, I also gave them like €5 in change, I don't know whether it is done in the cities or not but in the country sometimes you also give money as it has such a resemblence to the "Wren boys on St. Stephens day. I had none last year so getting some this year made it more like Halloween!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,564 ✭✭✭Naikon

Back in the day, I was lucky if I got an orange:pac:

None, but I live in a scumbag estate and if my neighbors want anything they'll steal it rather then asking me

Hey if you owned a motorcycle that was vandalized/attempted robbery in four months, you'd be as cynical as me!

Now, St Stephens Day we'll have the wren boys around singing a song. They'll get a few quid from me no problem

It wasn't too bad. Only four groups and for a change they all seemed to be young kids who had actually dressed up and had an adult with them.

We stopped answering the door years ago though because most of the callers seemed to be older kids from other housing estates who didn't even dress up were just taking the opportunity to go door to door looking for money. They'd also repeatedly ring the door bell and hammer on the door. Some of them would even go around a couple of days early, presumably so that they could cover more housing estates.

About eight groups in total, am working through the Lidl sweeties left over as I type. All nice, polite children, including one cutie who asked me if I'd like to go to the party in her house!!

Got 4 groups - they took a sh*tload of sweets off my hands, there's still a load for me to finish.
    My stomach hurts:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 158 ✭✭Darthvadar

    Not one!....

Had about forty last year, and almost ran out of goodies, so I said "Well that's not happening this year"....

Now what in the name of God am I supposed to do with a three and a half kilo bucket of sweets, along with four, one kilo bags of chocolate bars, and 54 bags of crisps...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 442 ✭✭smiley girl

I got one knock with 2 kids. Me and my bf were hissing 'you open it, no you open it' and then they knocked really hard so I had to answer it. And then we grabbed our coats, jumped in to the car and drove at high speed to his mams house earlier than planned (2 1/2 hrs earlier) so we wouldn't have to answer any more knocks! :D

Combine with 108 slices of bread = crisp sandwiches

    Delicious.

About 10 groups of 5...and then at 9:00pm a group of slutty dressed 13 year olds and some fat girl who waddled out my gate..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 63 ✭✭StargazerLily

We had a steady stream of callers from 4.30 until about 7 - must say they nearly all said 'Thanks' and were in great spirits. Lots of cute little witches and princesses but pity so few were in home made costumes. Nice to see so many of them enjoying it and having fun before we read the horror stories in the morning about the scumbags stoning the firemen or throwing cats on bonfires.
