I think the sods law one is because I'm not trying. I pull on a pair of woolly tights, a dress and knee hight boots and I'm happy enough with how I look. But because I'm wearing manky pants and hairy bits I amn't trying to score a guy so I'm being normal and having a laugh with my friends as opposed to scanning the room, checking out guys and flicking my hair lol.

And therefore I am more approachable/ attractive? I don't know. Thats my theory anyway! :D

That happened me recently. I went for one drink in jeans, ugg boots and a black cardigan, ended up hooking up with someone! I was pretty impressed with myself, I looked dreadful! :P

    2 things, about this.

    A) Pretty women can score no matter how they look.

    B) The Very casual look is brilliant and very much loved when everyone else looks done up to the nines. It gives the air of the girl not being very high maintainence and is just in general. Hot.

I've no specific items per se but generally skirts and dresses have a much higher pull rate than say jeans and a nice top. That said I've pulled, like pika, in some very casual stuff when I wasn't even supposed to be out. It somehow takes pressure off guys I think, you're not done up to the nines and looking for attention and compliments and he's not as intimidated.

Wearing a bikini with hair tossed out on the beach, poolside, or in a beach bar generally works for me. Also, that sporty look in shorts, half-T with tummy showing, ball cap, shades, and pony.

K, so my number is 086.....

    ;)

    Pulling outfit?

Everything I wear is a pulling outfit.;)

Seriously though. I try to dress well all the time but I would make extra effort if going to a club. Strangely though, I could genuinely count on my fingers the amount of times Ive pulled in a club.

I either dress poorly, or am an ugly mofo, probably a female dismaying combination.

I find it very hard to pull in clubs because the music is faaaaaaar too loud for any sort of non ear spitting conversation and everything is so crowded and fast paced.

I find it much easier to pull in a nice moderately busy pub.

So, um... in short, No, I dont have a pulling outfit.

What do the guys here think: Do you prefer a girl to be dressed more casually on a night out? Is it less intimidating to approach a girl who's dressed in this way?

I was never more surprised than by that night. I usually get quite dressed up to go out, so it was nice to find that in my very casual day gear, people still thought I was attractive :)

I'm not really into getting all dressed up and heading out "on the pull". I mean, a short dress or skirt and high heels is the general girl going out uniform. I've no interest in being out, freezing cold and in shoes I can barely walk in and which are hurting my feet.

If I'm going out, I'm going out because I want to have fun. I might wear a dress some nights but it won't be because I wanna flash my legs in the hope some guy will think I'm hot. I'll wear a dress if I like a dress. I'll more than likely wear tights too, this is Ireland afterall!

The last night I went out, I wore an over-sized, baggy t-shirt. I wasn't wearing anything tight or revealing but I was happy and comfortable and having a good time and I think that kinda vibe radiates. Tbh, I'd much rather spend my time with a girl who was up for a laugh than one who was off to the bathroom every fifteen minutes to check her lipstick wasn't on her teeth!

That's just me though! I don't dress provactively for guys (when I'm out) because I don't feel comfortable doing so and I just don't have a good time. If a guy doesn't like me because I'm in jeans, I don't care! So yeah, I don't have a pulling outfit. I just wear whatever I want, wherever I want.

I'd actually be less likely to approach a girl dressed super casual cos I'd reason that she's probably toning it down for the exact purpose of not attracting too much attention....

That said, in general, I don't find anything sexier on a girl than casual clothes. Don't get me wrong, a nice dress and some cleavage is lovely. But gimme a girl in jeans and flats and I'm set. On the street, the girls I notice most are the ones dressed in sweat pants and a hoody. Makes me think "She's hot shít without tryin. Awesome." Also, I like people who don't take themselves overly serious so this kinda shows that too....

Being a coward in these situations means im not gonna approach full stop :pac:

If you don't have it in your head that night to approach women, you're fcuked!

I like a girl who dresses well but with class. A nice top with jeans will always catch my eye. Dont have any time for the types who go around in ultra short skirts/dresses and caked to the hilt in fake tan. Its disgusting and very off-putting.

Nope. But I do like to dress up some bit when I go out. I have a particular love for 1960s inspired clothing.

No. But I am never out to score. I hate scoring random lads in a club/party/whatever. If there is someone I like that I'm after I just dress a bit nicer than usual I guess.

And when i go out I usually dress exactly as I do in the day. Most of the time at home I'm just in my work uniform. And in Cork I'd wear a casual enough dress. Never wear high shoes. Rarely wear skirts/dresses with bare legs. I like to look nice but not...exposed. But I've no problem with anyone that does dress like that, just not me!

+1 one of the hottest guys i have ever scored was a night I had to run straight from work to go out, was wearing jeans flats and a simply pink jumper barely any make up, hair was a little curled from getting caught in the rain and boom! Even to this day I still cant get my head around it tbh!

this could also be part of it.

In general i dont dress up because heels kill me, every time! and i find it hard to find nice "girly" stuff in shops so i go for the dresses with leggings and cardigans things a lot or the jeans and going out top gig! comfort for me every time, i think when your uncomfortable in your shoes/clothes you will be more self concious and you will be so preoccupied with it that it will show!

I like it when girls dress up personally. I really love the pounding in my chest and ears and the slight dizziness when I say hello to a girl for the first time. Non casual dressy stuff tends to help with this:)

Of course, the clothes don't make the woman though:)

My black suit, I have a girlfriend but any time I wear it out I always get hit on, women always want to know "why am I all dressed up?" my response is usually "because I'm an adult" while nodding towards the inevitable guy who will be standing nearby in a Mr Men tshirt or "if found return to pub" shirt :D

LOVE suits on men. Hate casual Friday in the office, casual Friday for men should be banned, it's unsightly :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,844 ✭✭✭shivvyban

I've never had one but then again I never used to go out on the pull or with any intention of getting with someone. I wish it was something to do with confidence but nope, just couldn't be bothered as most of my mates are stunning and so I was happier just being the go-between (ie. I was chattier with guys than they were and ended up doing the setting up type stuff).

When I got with my OH I was wearing my work uniform from the bar I worked in... Budweiser shirt + Budweiser pints + Vodka are all I need to pull! :)

I don't have a specific outfit, but I do dress up when I go out... I love dressing up and that's the only chance I get to do it! Wouldn't have a problem going to the pub last-minute in jeans and flats, but I prefer to make an effort and put on something pretty if I have the time :)

Our office is "business casual" whatever the **** that means, I never wear a shirt and tie though I get away with dark chords and a short sleeved shirt, if I had to wear a suit everyday I'd never wear one going out, it'd take all the fun out of it:D Depends on the type of night as well though, me and my friends have "suit up" nights (thanks Barney!) and all get decked out to the nines, for no reason other than to look good, if girls can have a glam night why cant guys I say, and my friends are a groupwho wouldnt normally get a massive amount of attention from girls when e go out in tshirts and jeans, chuck us into black suits and ties and its a different story though:)

*shudder* These are NOT funny guys! or clever/witty/attractive/whatever :(

Don't have a pulling outfit as such :) just a collection of stuff I like and think suits me. My saturday nights are spent in a DJ box with a holey rubber floor so its flats all the way for my safety!

I would agree with comments on thread about girls looking better when not as "done up". Was out on sunday night and out of the girls in the club that were all done up in the "latest" 80s throwback and sequins, 90% looked awful imo, like cheap christmas decorations :(

the rest of the girls who were wearing stuff that actually suited them instead of whats in heat magazine or whatever looked great, and seemed to be having a better time instead of flicking their hair and checking if the other girls looked better than them :pac:
