Wheres the best place for parking for the O2 these days?Heading in later with my 11 year old daughter--shes a bigger GD fan than me.

Cant wait for this--Havent seen them since 98 myself.

One of the Phantom DJs went down to the O2 this morning 'cause there were Green Day fans camped out there since 8 last nite. I couldn't believe it. Even in my younger days I wouldn't queue up for a band I really like for that long in the freezing rain.

    Excited :D:D:D

Ha, madness! Not the worst I've heard though - when I went to see the Boss in July, people had been queueing since Wednesday night and the concert was Saturday

Was at the gig last night in Belfast. No support act, GD came onstage at 8 on the button and tore a hole in the place right through to 10.15 when they went offstage for no more than two minutes then came back on for another 15 mins. Had considered doing the usual and go oing for a few pints beforehand and rolling in around 9. Thank christ traffic put paid to that plan.

We're standing and also don't wanna be right at the front so will prob stay in Fibbers till 7.30 then grab a cab, They won't be onstage till 8.45 and i can't be arsed with the support band, Prima Donna, never heard of them

    I was wrong.....for a change :rolleyes::rolleyes:

They went onstage at 20:00 and came off at 22:30

We walked into the venue at 7.35 at the front entrance, they had about 100 pit passes they were giving away, would've been rude not to take one :-)

2hrs 30 mins of pure fcukin excellence, what a gig, pics to follow..

Bit of a tyrefitters christmas party IMHO. Great if you like a bit of pantomime, bit of karaoke and a bit of jumping around with your mates. How many times do you have to hear "hey ho" ? And as for the ole ole ole ****e...

Still, American Idiot was awesome and the final encore was great too.

what? were you asleep for the gig it was not by any means panto.....or xmas party.

since the last gig in 05 it has come a long way and i was thrilled they played old school stuff. They made it fun for the new generation of Green Day fans too. Some of which im sure were as young as 7, always great to see!!!

The performance, pyro technics, lights sound tshirt launchers bog roll launchers beer and water guns were brilliant. They always get the crowd going. And being irish you should be used to the ole chant. They loved it clearly everytime it was sung tre was up singing it too as were mike and even jason.

I just loved how they included old songs more so than the new material. What blew me away was hearing she 2000 light years away and welcome to paradise i went beserk!!!

I cant wait to see them again truely an awesome gig......

Yeah, there was a bit too much "hey-hoooooo!" and f*&%ing "ole, ole ole!" and yeah, I felt old while thinking why aren't Stiff Little Fingers at least half as big as these guys, but overall it was a great show and a good gig. Loved hearing Basket Case live, finally.

    Amazing Amazing gig.

One of the best I've ever been to :D

They did a good mix of old and new songs and did some fantastic crowd interaction, it shows why they're so popular for all ages. They go out of their way to be good - "Anyone want a free t-shirt?"

I see Billie updated his watergun :P

Though I felt pretty ancient during 20,000 Light Years Away, I was the only person where I was standing who knew the lyrics and was jumping about :o

Was great fun and an amazing night!! :D

Same here-and basket case live is amazing.

The older stuff went down a lot better than the new stuff if you ask me.The songs from the new album just dont seem the best to be played live. The older stuff is just so full of energy that they blow the audience both older and younger away.

Because SLF were never marketed within an inch of their lives unlike these guys. Green Day are the Benetton of the surf punk genre - a bit edgy, a bit political, swear occasionally but ultimately a cartoon and safe enough to bring your kids along to. Suspect Device they are not.

one of the bet gigs ive been to, i just wish i had of known more greenday songs, my mates who i went they all big greenday fans from pretty much when they started off, billie has to be one of the best frontmen i've seen, his interaction with the crowd was just brilliant, he really gave us a show to remember

i saw the cameras set up, but didnt hear him say it was recorded for tv

Maybe it's just me but this was the worst Green Day concert I have been to. I have seen them at least four times (from the SFX to Sydney, Australia).

It was still good and the band were excellent as always but where I was anyway the bouncers were far too into their job. I saw 10+ people get grabbed and brought out. One guy was thrown out for jumping up and down in the one spot.

There was a bit of a mosh pit where I was and obviously word came from upstairs to go down and stop all moshing. I asked the bouncer why was there no moshing and he said "there are too many girls here" which was nuts considering we were close to the barrier - the moshing could only be described as mild at best and it was all lads where I was. You could tell they were getting instructions from upstairs on the headsets as to where to go and who to pull out.

I wouldn't bother going again - would head to Belfast or London instead. Were they expecting people to sit down with a glass of sherry?
