the point was a great venue alright, used to go there in my teen years, the 02 is meant to be great and much bigger, havent been yet though hope to be going with the OH soon :D
iv never had to start queueing early myself, unless you want to be right up the front, but if you get there even an hour or less beforehand youll still get quite near the front so you can see perfectly!

We're standing and also don't wanna be right at the front so will prob stay in Fibbers till 7.30 then grab a cab, They won't be onstage till 8.45 and i can't be arsed with the support band, Prima Donna, never heard of them

I'd say earlier than 8.45, with the curfew being 11, maybe closer to 8.30

I was on a Green Day message board just to see what the setlists have been like, and it's full of people saying they'll be queueing from god knows when to get "in the pit". Am I right in thinking there isn't one in the O2?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,419 ✭✭✭allanb49

I've been to judas priest and def leppard theres been no pit or barrier at either of them

I work there and I can tell you there is no pit area. You don't need to get there extra early because of the shape of the building you have a perfect view from anywhere and you won't be crushed

Gigs usually start at 9 but I'm sure I read somewhere Green Day were due on stage at 8 which I thought was unusual. Any idea Oldsmiley?

I'd imagine they're startin quite early. It says on the ticket doors are open 6.30. Plus from seeing the american setlists, it seems like they're playing fairly long sets.

    lookin forward to it now

I didn't know there was a curfew. It was after 11 when Def Leppard was over (I think).

o2 says there will be inner pit for the gig, someone who works at the o2 said theres not going to be one.

    Who to belive!?

Never been an "inner pit" for any gig I've been to at The O2 and I've been to a few!

Any decent pubs in the vicinity of the O2. Ill be looking to watch the United game before the Concert.

there is a pub around the corner from it accross from the dockyards (away from the ferry terminals iirc

also, if you walk past the o2, cross the bridge, and then once you cross turn straight away as in walking back towards the bridge and follow that road, it leads to a street and if you continue walking you come to a few pubs and chippy, the chippy is called formula one or summat.

directions terrible but thats the only way i can remember to describe it haha

btw, have they sorted out the parking yet at the o2, cause im goinna drive up, so was gonna try park onsite, or just park alongside the liffey on the road heading towards the city, heck, i could even park at the train station and walk it if i had to

yeah funds are a bit tight so no hotels for me lol
but jurys is pretty close to the place good spot to stay, is it costing ya much?

actually getting the 100x up to the IFSC in the morning so I can check in and watch the United match. Two rooms for two people is about €180 so about €45 each. Worth it to not have to race for a bus and do late traveling after. Also, residents bar ; )

yeah thats a plan alright lol

What time's kick off? I mean, if they're on at 8, that's cutting it fine...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 462 ✭✭lunacyfoundme

Games in Russia, the kickoff here is 1730 so itll be finished by 1915. Short walk to the O2.
