Aye - she gave me the card so she'd get £25 M&S vouchers on the transaction!

You are now one of the heroes of this thread :D
If only I was so lucky, I was made cancel my CC and the boss put me on hers so she could control my spending, if its not cleared every month I get an interrogation that would fit in in Guantanamo Bay.

    I WISH THEY'D TAKE LASER ON PBK/CRC/WIGGLE :(

Seriously nice ride El Tel, well wear. Is that a Fizik Arione saddle on it also, let us know how you get on with the bike and components. Carbon bars, stem and seat post also?
Care to divulge where you bought it and how much was debited from your girlfriends credit card?

    Cheers Doc.

Saddle is Arione Kium, dosen't look as comfortable as my Alias but we'll see.
bars are carbon Ritchey Road Wcs EVO,
stem Ritchey Wcs 4 AXIS Matrix Carbon.
Seat post is integrated, has beeen trimmed to my height but the seat clamp give 25mm adjustment.

Bought it from Slane Cycles, you can see the full spec on their website (R2, 2008).

Serious bike and components, let me know how you find the Arione Kium saddle, have been looking at these for a while, not the most comfortable looking perhaps but have got great reviews. Nice colour scheme on that one too perfectly matching the bike.

Dear spending brothers, yesterday I did something awful and truly unforgivable.I paid a grand off my credit card bill.

I've been feeling bad about this all day and just had to amend things so that I could cycle in your company without been shunned and pointed at. So today I went shopping and purchased the following:

    Planet X Ti Sportive frame,
    Alpha Q comp carbon fork,
    Planet X Ti seat clamp,
FSA Orbit X extreme pro headset,
    FSA carbon seatpost,
    FSA K-force carbon chainset(compact),
Shimano Ultegra F+R long drop brake callipers.

I felt sooooo much better afterwards. I could've kept quite about my dirty little bill paying secret but I felt it better just to be honest and confess.

Can you find it in your hearts to forgive me?
I think I've shown that I soon realised the error of my ways.

You know you're on a binge when reception* calls you up to say a package has arrived, and you have no idea which one it'll be.

I'm currently waiting on three deliveries: winter gloves/overshoes, a rack pack** and a B&M Ixon IQ light.

    * I gave up having stuff delivered to my home address quite some time ago
** My cyclocross bike is morphing slowly into a tourer. It's already wearing the Pletscher rack and rear light from a Pashley Princess. The shame!

Oh the shame.. Today morning a message on my voicemail "Hi there Kon, yet another package has been delivered for you, would you mind picking it up?"...

4 parcels for me so far this week (3 of which are bike-related). Only problem is getting everything home - I'll have to drive into the office on Saturday to pick it all up (fortunately I'll be heading there to drop next week's clothes off anyway):D

It's tough, practically same price on CRC also. How does these compare with the Shimano Ultegra pedals, they're both around the same weight at 230g but the Ultegra are a bit cheaper. Would you recommend matching the pedals with the groupset

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,720 ✭✭✭✭ednwireland

wouldnt match pedals to groupset, i have used look for years, i can see the conversation now, but love the bikes carbon it needs carbon pedals

Haha, it's not like me spending money online at all! Well, not this much anyway! At least I'll be all set up for a good winters training and for the start of next years racing season, including a new TT bike to show off! One or two big things along with lots of small little things that I needed and have been meaning to get which really add up when you look at it like this! Here it goes (both include shipping costs)...

Planet X: Stealth TT Frame, Headset, Fork Bung, and 2 rolls of bar tape (buy one get one free) - €633.20

Ribble: Shimano Ultegra 6700 Front and Rear Derailleurs, Front and Rear Brakes and Chain along with Dura Ace 7800 Chain, DT Swiss Triple Wheel Bag, Polar CS Speed Sensor/Mount, Velox Tub Tape, Velox Tub Repair Kit, Assos FI Uno S5 Bibshorts and Finish Line Ceramic Wet Lubricant - €431.80
Total: €1065....oh my god what have I done! Please make me feel a bit better, somehow, just do it! Haha.

3/4 length assos uno from Slane Cycles. Useful for about two weeks when i'll need to move onto full length!
