I caught the end of a piece on the radio saying the DePaul Society was having a table quiz in town tonight. I didn't catch where. It said to go to their website for more information, but there doesn't seem to be any information on there.

Throughout the months of October, November & December Shannonside Northern Sound is on a mission - to find the best quiz team in our franchise area.

The Shannonside Northern Sound Know It All Quiz Teams are visiting locations throughout Counties Longford, Roscommon, Leitrim, Cavan and Monaghan.

Our search continues next week when the we are in the following locations in the Shanonside Region -

County Longford:
The Olde Village Inn Drumlish on Tuesday night 13th October
The Castle Inn Newtownforbes on Thursday night 15th October

County Roscommon:
Spells, Pound Street, Ballaghadereen on Tuesday night 13th October
Cox's Bar, Rooskey on Wednesday night 14th October
The Miner's Bar Arigna on Thursday night 15th October

County Leitrim:
The Landmark Hotel Carrick on Shannon on Thursday 15th October

Table of 4: €30.

Quiz starts at 9:00pm sharp.

Prizes on the night.

The winning team from each location goes through to the grand final on Wednesday 9th December for the overall prize of €4,000.

Hi people.

Due to the great success of our previous effort we have decided to organise another table quiz in aid of the CARI Foundation.

It will be held in the Robert Reade on Store Street on Friday the 27th of November @ 8.30pm.

It will be 40 euro for a table of 4, there will be various spot prizes with a great first prize.

It is in aid of a great cause, in a central Dublin venue so hopefully I will see you there.

The Dun Laoghaire Musical and Dramatic Society pub quiz will be taking place on Wednesday. This event will take place in Fitzgeralds Pub in Sandycove kicking off at 8pm. The quiz master will be the very entertaining Des Cox and a great night's fun is promised for all. There will be 4 members on each team. If you can bring a full team that’s great but if not, come along and we'll make up teams on the night. This event has always been a success in the past and also helps in a small way towards the cost of our show next March, The Pirates of Penzance. There will lots of spot prizes on the night as well as a raffle. Cost of entry is 10 euro a head.

The staff of Douglas Community School are organising a fun table quiz in the South County in Douglas next Wednesday night 27th January at 8.45pm. The quiz was originally in aid of their partner school, an orphanage in Uganda, but 50% of funds raised will now go to Medicins Sans Frontieres in Haiti. All are welcome.

There will be a table quiz on Friday 29th January in Ashbourne/Donaghmore GAA club. The quiz will start at 9pm and tables of 4 or 5 will be €40. All monies raised on the night will go to help the people of Haiti following the recent tragedy in their country. There will be lots of raffle prizes on the night, and a good time will be had by all!

Please come along to support this event and spread the word to anybody who you think would like to go. Everybody is welcome and if you don't have a team, we will find one for you!

Kendo na hEireann is organising a pub quiz to raise funds for the Irish Kendo team's upcoming trip to the European Kendo Championships in Hungary.

Entry is €40 for a team of four people and there will be a cash prize for the first place team. There will also be lots of spot prizes and a raffle, as well as plenty of fun to be had on the night!

Kendo is the art of Japanese sword fighting, developed from the fighting techniques of the Samurai. The modern version is practiced by an estimated six million people world-wide.

In Ireland, Kendo is still very much a minority martial art and the Irish team receives no funding. Members pay all of their own travel expenses to represent Ireland at European level. All money raised will go towards travel expenses for the team.

Table quiz this Tuesday, 20th April in Dicey Rileys (Russell Court Hotel), Harcourt Street at 7.30 pm in aid of the HOPE/ Froebel partnership.

The HOPE foundation works with street children and their families in Calcutta. HOPE funds schools and coaching centres, clinics, creches, HIV/Aids programmes, vocational training and a Children's Hospital.

Froebel College is a teacher training college in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. This June, newly qualified teachers are travelling to Calcutta to volunteers as teachers, working with the street children in schools and coaching centres.

Hello Fellow Quiz Goers

A group of employees from the Independent News & Media Group are holding a table quiz in D2 tomorrow night (Friday 30th April) at 7.30!

For those who want details, it’s in aid of the National Liver Transplant Unit which is based in St. Vincent’s University Hospital. 4 people per table and a tenner :eek: in but this also gets you into the nightclub as well – you can make a night of it:rolleyes:!

It’s going to be a fun and varied quiz & we have great raffle prizes such as weekends (plural) away, dinners, beauty & spa treatments:cool:, vouchers and more.

Tables of 4-5 and slap bang in the middle of town, easy both to go out and get home after
