    Hey guys,

I know it's short notice but there's a pub quiz TOMORROW NITE (June 23) in Doyle's Pub in college's only a fiver each which is pretty cheap :D

Tables of 4-5 and slap bang in the middle of town, easy both to go out and get home after :). Starts 7:30 to 8, and looks to be great craic

(it even has its own bar ;) )

sounds interesting, whos it in aid of or organised by?

An unfunded theatre project, hoping to produce an original play in the autumn. The play's got a strong human rights theme, so it's not completely selfish. It's taken months of work and A LOT of persuasion to get an established theatre to agree to take a new script by a new writer, and the quiz is to raise the deposit on the theatre so the project can definitely go ahead

myself and a couple of mates are going to run a table quiz next week for Temple Street Hopital and I just have a few questions s this will be our 1st time.

    1. Do you know of any good venues that do free room rental in and around the following areas:

2.We are going to do it on a Sat. nite as we have a big crowd of friends and are going to make a night of it. I realise there are not too many table quizes on a sat nite so just wondering if we are making a big mistake?

    3. any other tips would be appreciated.

Glad there were a few questions that challenged you...this quiz mistress brought all the answer sheets home to analyse the scores to see which questions were most likely to be incorrect. Just looking for some advise regarding holding a table quiz!

Is it better to have questions written out on sheeets with a space for the answer or should i just get a quizmaster to call out the questions?

How many rounds should it consist of? 8/10?

Any advise regarding getting prizes/sponsors etc.?

The Socialist Party in Limerick is organising a fundraising pub quiz this Thursday, September 30th at 8pm in the Horse and Hound, Mulgrave St, Limerick City.

Come along, bring a table and enjoy a good night! The cost is €5 unwaged/ €10 waged, with tables of four people. There will also be a raffle on the night. You can prebook by emailing

The Limerick Socialist Party has an unmatched record over the last decade-and-a-half of supporting communities and workers in struggle and led the campaigns to save St. John’s A&E, fight the bin tax and now the reintroduction of water charges. We have also played a leading role in the anti-war movement and in campaigning against both Lisbon referendums.

As the crisis worsens and unemployment deepens, the very real need for a genuine political alternative to the establishment parties’ policies of cuts and bailouts is clear. The Socialist Party and its supporters reject the idea that working people should pay for the crisis the bankers and developers caused, and will register that opposition by standing in the next general election in Limerick.

As the Socialist Party does not accept any donations from big business as a point of principle, we rely on events like these and the support of ordinary working class people and communities help us fund our work.

If you agree with us, please support us by bringing a team and inviting your friends.
