i'm fcuking sick and tired of reading this shyte. some rapist cnut was convicted, released, rapes a woman 36 hours later. then he gets five years. now the same guy has been arrested for attacking a woman acouple of hours after being released again.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2009/0916/dublin.html

if he doesn't get at least life with no possibility of release, then when he gets out i'm personally going to find him and smash his fcuking face in in advance. i'd also love to have a go at the judge who deemed it suitable to sentence him to five years the second time.

does anyone have the number for those dissidents who did such a good job in cavan?

and pinko liberals - shut the fcuk up, there's no rehabilitation for this cnut or any other rapist for that matter.

If its who I think it is he was pretty fuc ked up as a kid too.
He was psychotic. And no there is no rehabilitation for them.
He needs to be locked up for the rest of his life, the only way women in Ireland will be safe is if he spends the rest of his life in prison or someone kills him, would hate to see someone ruining their own life to put him down though.

... and it has women, too.

Simple idea, expressed again: if there's a high chance of reoffending (or it's already happened) judges should have an option to detain indefinitely, even if he's finished his sentence. We have a Central Mental Hopsital for cases like this.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Three strikes... your out.

    Chemical castration.

Mind you, if this was China, by now it would be a case of placing a small metal projectile into the back of a skull, ejected from a hand held utility.
There's a lot to be said for China sometimes!

Free on two occasions over the past 14 years for about 50 hours in total and two women attacked.

I wonder will the justice system get the message or will it be all compassion for the offender, a silly sentence and then free again to do what he is able to do in society - try and destroy the lives of others before he is arrested again.

I don't have much faith in the justice system, seems more vered towards the offenders than the victims.

Agree in principle, but then there will be the other sides argument of the costs associated with an indefinite detention period, vis the burden on the State.

Would these be the "organ donors"? At least they eventually get to make a positive contribution to society, even if they're not around to attend an awards ceremony.

Don't you realise false claims of rape are incredibly common?

Please think about what you type before you type it.

I doubt you would actually. Keyboard warriors don't make good fighters. Stick to the mortal kombat on your Wii like a good lad.

no, you think about what you're typing. a person falsely accused of rape is not a rapist.

therre's a lovely row of trophies on my shelf that would indicate that i'm a little more than a keyboard warrior. doubt all you like though, you'll thank me when he doesn't rape your granny.

My gran was actually raped by a family member some years ago. Thanks for bringing back up that painful chapter in my life.

Hang on lads. Cart/Horse and all that. So the debate (heated) is about our terrible judicial system. But as a species we're terrible judges of character. That's why the system fails, and why it's fallible.

You have emotion come to play to the guard that lets the little pie ball (sorry for the generalisation) off with a warning only to have that recently reprimanded individual don a balaclava and rob his local offy.

Yeah, clutching at straws there, but bear in mind that we're fickle as a race. And we can and have and will make bad judgements. Even those in learned and higher positions. And have studied law most of their lives.

It's easy to lash out, even easier to pre-judge.

What I'm getting at is vigilantism..........:pac: (Just to end my rambling).

    .

The sentencing is based on precedent. It's quite difficult for a Judge to hand out a life sentence for rape and have it survive a trip to the court of appeal. Essentially the law would have to be rewritten to make harsher sentencing easier. This isn't to say there haven't been some strange decisions over the years, but one must remember that Judges do not have a free hand in these matters.
