Whats the point of censorship these days? Especially when it comes to bad language. We hear it evry day any way. If something has a siclaimer in the beginning of it, saying it is language oof scenes of an adult nature, the viewer should not watch if easily offended. most of us hear bad language on a daily basis anyway.

RTE's problem with comedy lies within the fact that its grandaddy Gay Byrne set up the unofficial watermark for censorship during his Reign on the late late show, along with other big wigs that found anything at all edgy threatening to the Irish viewers morality.

Bottom line is RTE need to loosen up and go with what the intelligent audience want to watch.

I always ****ing never understood the ****ing reason for ****ing censorship the censors are *****. I could give a **** who reads or hears me say all of this ****.

But in fairness it means that you have to write around the censorship, RTÉ aren't actually that bad when it comes to censorship. My point being that if you can get at the censors it proves for better content. And I take this purely from what Graham Linehan said about his writing that actually comedy can improve you don't need to ****ing sware to be ****ing funny.

I'm not saying you do. It takes more time and effort.

Very much agree. I think cursing in comedy works best when used to punctuate an already good joke. Like in The Thick of It or on Screenwipe when Charlie Brooker, as "the talent" told a runner, "You are fired from ****ing London; you are fired from ****ing life."

I think it says a lot about the Hardy Bucks that when they (themselves, not RTE) edit out the strong language, the laughs disappear as well. There's no substance beneath the sthyle.

(While we're talking out our hole...) I see your posts are only in the triple digits there, Mick.

Obviously you're just another of the multiple accounts the Hardy Bucks use to talk themselves up on boards.

I'm okay. Two digits is so low as to be beneath suspicion. It's all about the long con, this business.

You for instance, were the "hard sell" who initially was underwhelmed by the bucks but eventually came round to their blinding genius.

Of course that makes me... the fake troll planted by the bucks to bump up the thread and interest before their live show in Dublin.

Do you think about that sort of stuff much.

It would be funny if mikom, Wyndman and Elmo turned out to be buzz, the boo, and french toast.
And none knew what the other was up to.

    Great episode, really enjoyed it.

Poor aul Eddie really has his work cut out for him.

    Love Rama, loike.

I liked to episode, it had loads of proper bucks moments, but I was maybe just expecting a little more.

I had thought that since this was the last storyland one it would be a bit of a finalé (And although we did get the baby thing) I was hoping for something a bit more.

I thought that the viper was going to be dealt with. The Kareoke was hilarious, Boo and Buzz singing Warren G. I got a real laugh out of Scorpio's crew and the drugs.

Rama was good too, "I went to art college!"

I hope that there is more to come in some form.

I wonder will the bucks keep the youtube series going? Probably not I don't know where they'd get the money out of. If RTE don't turn this into a proper show I'm going to kick my tv out the window... No wait I already did that. Um.... I going to punch Pat Kenny in the face.

Scorpio is a weak enough character at the best of times, but Scorpio's crew are worse.
I liked the episode, but the Scorpio crew let it down.
Don't get me started on the masked muffle talker....... We have all seen Kenny from south park, so we don't need another one.

The original characters were top as usual. Boo and buzz in the pub could easily be one of your wise crackin' friends..... the connection is there.
Good to see big Mick back again and of course Langan (without the long locks).

My suggestion..... less Scorpio crew, more roarin' America lovin' 9/11 cowboy dude. You know, the bandana guy. ;)

Scorpio's Crew are designed to be annoying, and I think the guy in the hood is supposed to be a knacker who is so knackery he can't be understood, by normal people. There's a hilarious bit where one of them says "I swear to God i'll spike his drink tonight man."

in my opinion Yer man in the hood was hilarious "Nottin in this tooowwwnnn mooonnnnnn!!"

Clips from the information night in RTE
    ;)

'Have you been watching RTÉ’s web drama series on StoryLand? Would YOU like to make a series?

RTÉ is seeking submissions for 6 new pilot drama series to go online from January to June 2010.

We don’t mind if you’ve made dozens of TV series or have never made anything before, as long as you have a good idea that will engage our over 18 audience for 6 episodes and can convince us that you have a team behind you to pull it off, then we want to hear from you.'
