The beauty of having a coat of arms is that there are myriad ways you can represent the exact same armorial bearings while still complying with the traditional blazon. It annoys me that there are so many different versions of the arms carelessly used in College literature; it wouldn't take much effort to implement a standard version of the arms for general use that looks fresh and definitive but still follows the traditional design.

(BTW, a crest is technically just something sitting on top of the shield in a coat of arms.)
Perhaps the one used on wikipedia? :P

No ;) That one is cobbled together from pre-existing public domain/open source images, so that the result can be open source.

I think (from what I read on Boards last summer) that you get a new picture in 3rd year.

Yep. Every two years, so 3rd year for most people.

Can confirm, for postgrads at least, that it is indeed snot green:

Ah ffs...is it as crap as the green when we were in second year? Looks, from that pic at least, to be a slightly less putrid shade, but that could just be the lighting...fucking Trinity and their inability to have non-crappy student cards. At least it's not pink...

Why don't you guess Jonathan? You were right last year :)

    I hadn't even noticed that :)

Lets go with green this year.

    Correct two years running :D

Do Postgrads and Undergrads get the same colour each year?

I confirmed. Your prediction could have been just that - a prediction.

Plus, I gave the shade. It's SNOT GREEN, not Green. :pac:

I made no prediction. I stated exactly what colour it was gonna be.

And if your snots are that green mate.....

"I have it on good authority" is not the same as "I have a card in my hand, and this is how it is". When I read that (before I registered or anything), I read that as "probably going to be green" not "definitely green".

I agree. Sorry Unregistered, SnappieT got in there first! :pac:

Just got mine - I'd call it more lime than snot tbh. Much better than the last green anyway (for the 3 of you old enough to remember that one)

My vote is with blue. Apparently they have a simple rota.
I'd love a black one tho..

They should do it like those ptsb credit cards where you got to pick your background picture for the card. That would be cool.

I'll stick my neck out here and guess Orange.

I have it on good authority that it'll be either black (top) fading to gray (bottom), or it'll be the blue hue similair to the background of the picture here. Seems they want to ensure it isn't copying another colleges ID card for the year?

It was red in 08/09. I'm gonna guess blue.

I just hope they get rid of the tacky fade on it...

Black -> -> Grey would be great... certainly better than that green monstrosity this year and that off-pink colour previously.
