He really leaves you in awe of him.

How the heck did he turn the 1 Dollar bills into 100 Dollar bills?

and he is honour bound to not reveal his secrets.

He's not part of the magicians circle, so he's not really bound to anything but himself

We were talking about stooges earlier - how obvious was that guy who found the automatic writing 'too tricky', and was assigned the task of performing the calculations that led to the previous draw's results (partially anyway)..

Well fair play, he had me hooked and I watched the whole thing..

But I enjoyed it regardless of whether he used camera trickery or rigged the machine or whatever!

Oh and what's this next Event about? Making you stuck to your seat?

I'm glad they've got a photo of the bloke holding up '27' in that article. He went really, really red when Derren Brown won and most of the people in the room were celebrating - methinks red with shame over the deception.

    Here's some more Blaine stuff.
    Amazing.

I enjoyed the draw, I enjoyed how people cracked it, I hated the "reveal".

He added: 'I guess the easiest way to pull off a trick like this would be to make it look as if you predicted the numbers when you didn't.'

    HURRRRRR :pac:

also why didnt he do the calculations at the end? hmmm maybe he would have known the answers and blown this ludricious idea open.

Ha! I noticed the ball to the extreme left was out of line to the rest on the Wednesday night. Happy to see it got a mention

People drive me nuts. I love Derren Brown's shows, but the pub conversations they spawn are the most annoying I've ever heard. It's the certainty that drives me bananas. Everybody's absolutely sure that their explanation is absolutely correct regardless of the fact that there's no way they could possibly be sure.

Every time Derren Brown does anything, there seems to be a genuine and sincere outrage that he's not actually magic. It doesn't matter how he actually did it, and it doesn't matter even if he did/does give us a truthful explanation - all that matters is the mystery.

I think we should try to have a go at collectivly generating random numbers and seeing how close we get. Just for a laugh (better not get the numbers right though)

Trouble is the mystery is gone when the "trick" is analyzed.

Actually when you click the link watch the video again. Now pause it at 5.51 then manually use your mouse and hover over 5.51 and 5.52. ;)

What wrong with certainty? There's only one way it could possibly have been done. The evidence supports it too, and the experts agree. I can replicate this trick live, and so can you and everyone else here. Here's what we are talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bCyYuSOufE

The only outrage is that Derren expects people to swallow this nonsense.

Ok, it's fun working out how he did it. The thing is, he DID perform a trick, that's his job.

The rest of it was a really entertaining show. The guy is damn good at what he does. I mean, who wasn't a bit freaked out when he showed there was a mouse under that last cup? I prefer the psychological stuff to the sleight of hand or other trickery but the cool thing is how he blends them (for the most part) to the point where you're not sure which is which.

They were all excited as the numbers came out, even though they didnt know which numbers they were???

    Or am i missing something?

You can "analyze" it 'til the cows come home though, from the pub. Even if you have a completely plausible possible explanation of how it plausibly, possibly could have been done, you will never be absolutely sure that that's how he did it unless he tells you himself.

And even then, he's probably lying. :D

    Worst.............. show.............. ever......

I am. Looking at the evidence, I am sure there is no other way he did it.

Had it not been for the cock up, I would be less sure.

And I'll have you know that none of the cows here go to the pub, unless they're sneaking down there......

I doubt they'd risk squashing a mouse any more than they'd inject a substance (regardless of how harmless) without consent, or by lying/misleading.

The point I'm trying to make is that Derren is insulting our intelligence now with every move he makes. I used to really enjoy his shows, and I was a big fan, but every time I watch I'm disappointed.

I remember the Russian Roulette stunt... utter bollocks, but I forgave him. Look, I know none of it is meant to be taken seriously, but like I said, it's just a tad disappointing when he insults his viewers over and over again.

I did like, though, how he indirectly admitted it was a trick tonight.

Watch at 5:59 where the camera comes off the tripod and goes to handheld zoom for the first time.

Got a lot of people tricked there Darren!

    I disagree.

    I disagree.

Why? There is the (admittedly minuscule) chance that he selected 6 numbers at random and made them his prediction, therefore you can't be absolutely positive that he did it one way or another.

Also i wanna go on record to say that i will eat my own bollox if that "stick to the couch" thing works next week!
