Could you not just say you are recording it?

Sure, and he could probably say "park my car" instead of "pork my cor" but he's trendy.

He was never going to tell the truth.

He told the truth about they way he DIDn't do it, because doing it that way would have been illegal, thus he couldn't admit to doing it that way anyway. But he said, in detail, with pictures and props, exactly how he didn't do it!

Anyway, we will all be watching next wednesday. The minute he tells me I am locked down to my seat, I am up and off to make the tea.

    There, I said it.

Too much needless misdirection to suggest that he actually tampered with the lottery. The psuedo psychological science just clouds too much ambiguity about those little white balls right at the tail end of the trick. Why did he have to go to a wee separate room from all the volunteers at the end to do his little showing the balls trick rather than just do it in front of them? So nobody could see what was going on right at the tail end of the trick.

so it was a camera trick then?

I'm thinking there's going to be some poor fools who buy lottery tickets every week and are going to convince themselves it was rigged and try to kick up a fuss.

He won't reveal how it was really done. He'll lie (again) about memorising stats and all kinds of other bull****.

It's like when he says, "No actors or stooges are used in this show" - that cannot be true. It's like Penn Jillette says, "In magic, the technical term for this is called 'lying'.."

He's no more or less of a magician than anyone else - he just packages it up for a 21st century audience.

Now there's a REAL prediction! How was THAT done? Tune in next week to find out :pac:

Derren Brown is a normal, reasonably good stage/tv magician. His one clever idea is to tell the audience how he did it, using a plausible lie.

Well do we have a youtube clip anywhere handy where we can actually look at the last 20 seconds really up close? I just saw it now for the first time now but it strikes me the simplest way is just to fix it really quickly right at the end. If I can discount that then it will bother me.

I just couldn't believe he'd try and pass off such a bogus explanation(s).

David Blaine is on now and he is a fantastic magician.
I'd watch him over Derren any day.

Not his stupid hanging in a box stuff, but his magic when he is out on the streets of America.

+1 to that.. Good old street wuts ftw!

He used a split screen, with a frozen image of the balls on the left. Added some digital effects to make it look like the camera was moving (which it wasn't, that would have made the freeze-frame almost impossible), and unfroze after a stage hand had place the numbered balls on the stand.

we never saw the numbers they predicted, therefore it was an elaborate camera trick and the whole hour was a load of nonsense.

sorry im a little annoyed and perplexed, every other trick he has done he explained it fully, now tonight, he didnt which raises more questions then answers.likeis he trying to now go back and say he is a magican as opposed to a illusionist.
My thinks brown is scraping the barrel.

If he really had done it he would have bought a goddamned ticket for a start.
the whole thing was 'bluff' and 'nonsense'.

This trick should be done live on the internet during the next draw by somebody with the right software, to convince any remaining doubters.

And completely missing the point of the last few minutes when he explained how he DIDN'T do it.

I don't think, at any point, that he explicitly said that he predicted the lotto using the group of people. He said that was one of the possible options that he could have used!

David seems to be scraping the bottom of the American social classes barrel in choosing his subjects.

Either that or it's an accurate sample of your average American.
