And rightly so, being the best irish sportsman of all time.

Don't see how his accent would come into it, or do all soccer forum posters talk like "dis"?

    Lighten up.

I'm a Sunderland supporter and I was at the Britannia to see the Stoke match and Glenn Whelan really went up in my estimation (see previous posts screaming for him to be dropped.) Although he didn't exactly have a attacking minded midfielder alongside him in Delap, I have a feeling he might thrive partnering a midfielder who can put his foot on the ball.

In the next few years hopefully we'll see the emergence of a decent old-fashioned targetman (Sheridan, maybe?) as we desperately lack a quality physical presence. Folan hasn't made an impact on the Premier League but we saw the difference a big strong guy can make, the Italy match for instance.

He's been excellent beside S.Reid which backs up your point.

3-0 to Ireland, I can feel it! Richard Dunne to score with his big head again....hes 28/1 to score first! Might be worth the bet!.

Would be nice to see Doyle getting a goal

Just on betfair, Dunne isn't listed:mad:. Kilbane is 44-1, if he starts that's a bargain!
JOS is 30-1 and the duffer 12-1, might throw a fiver on JOS

Glen Whelan to score first, Ireland to win 3-1, 175/1 on PP....long shot I know since I dont think there has been more than 3 goals in an Ireland game yet in this group!

12/1 on duff is a very good price

if I was betting on this match id go for that for sure

Nice prices around for first and anytime scorers for Dunne and Whelan.

I can see an Irish goal from either a set peice or a Whelan long shot (their keeper is a bit ropey apparently)

I don't give a flyin fart what score it finishes, who scores just once we have 3 points at the end.

Keane is 10-1 first scorer on PP with a max 15e stake, great odds.

Another ninety mins of watching Ireland play well for ten, probably score and then just cave in, not retain the ball, and hope for a miracle from Given and the backline, plus the Cypriot forwards not being able to score.

    Can't wait tbh.

For some reason the odds on an Ireland win have lengthened in the last few hours.

    1) display bet that will obviously be refunded
    2) people place bet in shop and forgot to come back to claim their stake
    3) profit!
