    Hi All,

Just a quick question for those using gyms in Cork city.

I am working close to MacCurtain street in the city and I want to join a gym. From what I can see there are two options:

SanoVitae @ the Clarion Hotel (€630 - student, year)
Leeside Leisure @ the Gresham Metropole (€510 - student, year)

I am swaying to the metropole as it is cheaper and is closer!

Has anyone have good/bad experiences with them? Or have a better option?

    Cheers!

it would prob make sense to find a gym near your place of study!? anway, what about the mardyke or nrg (jurys on western rd)? - havnt heard any reports on the two you mentioned

I was a student in UCC. But I'm working now and I can still use my student card for a few months! I know I could go to the maradyke and avail of free membership for a bit but that won't last long and I prefer if the gym was closer to where I live/work.

I'm thinking of joining the Locker Room on Washington St as i believe they have good weight loss programs. 60 a month direct debit...seems fairly standard for gym prices these days. Anyone have any experiences of this gym?

    @ corkthai
Cheers, I'll definetely give it a look!

    @ Shurwhynot
From what I've read the Locker Room and the Maradyke are probably the best gyms in Cork...you can't go far wrong with them.

    @ J.S. Pill
Thank, I was thinking it would be mostly geared towards cardio.

I eventually email Leeside @ the Metropole asking them if they had things that I need, squat racks etc. A minute hadnt gone by and I had a response (well done to the staff).

Apparently, there is no squat rack...not even a smith machine version. Bit of a dose!:(
