Heinz, though once a year I'll buy the Chef for a change, enjoy the first half of the bottle but hate the second half when the novelty has worn off, then back to Heinz another 11 and a half months.

Chef but I always throw at least half the bottle out because it gets mouldy.

Ketchup is the most horrible creation ever

Truth. Ketchup is good for one thing. Ruining a meal.

    Chef. No question.

This should probably be in the Puzzles and Quizzes section which has a "Would you rather" game.

Big red bottles of Candi (i think?) ketchup FTW!!!

    Failing that, Ballymaloe relish.

Il admit the very odd time i dip chips into a small bit off it, but what i cant understand is people plastering it on dinner or breakfast rolls etc. You cant taste the meat!!!

Chef for me at the minute.
But the big question is, where do you store it. The fridge or the press??:p

People who buy Chef watch the BBC

People who buy Heinz watch ITV

Chef it is- Top Gear and all that :D

My Aunt always stored the prim and proper glass bottle of Chef in the press- never a bother with it. These days, I always put the 'plastic' bottle in the fridge - probably so high in preservatives and vinegar that it doesn't really matter but fridge errs on the side of caution i guess

Well for the past 16 years of my life, chef reigned supreme, but heinze has come on to the scene and it quite clearly is nicer.

If you could get ketchup with the taste of Heinz and the consistency of Chef it would be the bees knees of ketchup.

    Chef is my preference.

Whoever mentioned that Kandee ketchup, it's still available. Sure I saw it in Tesco or Supervalu.

I never noticed the difference between the two.. or any ketchups for that matter. Dunnes, Tesco, Supervalu, Heinz, Chef... all probably come out of the same factory and just get pumped into different bottles :P

Heard that old chestnut many times as a nipper when we'd be giving out about the KVI yellow label ****e in the trolley:)

it simply depends on what I'm eating...

I like Chef when I'm having chips.
But I like Heinz in burgers.
Same here, I never get the reasoning why some people are so madly against one or the other. I mean if you don't like ketchup you don't like it, but you have to admit it is very strange to love one and supposedly despise the others when they are such similar items/tastes. Same goes for chocolate, e.g. galaxy vs cadburys, or coke vs pepsi. I like coke with spirits or as a refreshing drink, I like pepsi with food. Chef with fish, I have a mixture of several ketchups & mayo with chips.
    Heinz is the ultimate ketchup.

It's the only ketchup worth consuming.
So how many have you had? I have several types in the house at any one time, like I have several types of beer, several vodka, rums, chocolate bar, curry sauceetc. Delmonte ketchup is very nice, they have a few types too. M&S ketchup is nice too, and tesco is good too, a lot of own brands use a good bit more tomato than heinz or chef.
