Someone told me that too, that pork is as dangerous as chicken if not cocked fully. Up until then I loved rare pork products I'd even slightly under cook rashers.

I wouldn't eat a sussage or a raasher under well done, or any becon, but cuts of pork like rack, loin and fillet are grand.

Only reason I wouldn't eat a rasher under welldone is because i love crispy bashers and hate white fat on rashers.

I don't really eat the fat, I might have an ol suckle on it but over all I avoid it.

What next, a McDonalds at the top of Croagh Patrick? A KFC in the middle of Lough Key Forest Park, a Burger King at the Cliffs of Moher?
Or imagine turning the Townhall in Bray into a McDonalds. oh wait.....

That 100x100 burger looks rank. Those people deserve to die for eating that, what's with the colour of the meat?

".we hit a couple of raw patties near the end"

    eughhhh

Thanks for all the replies to my OP. I don't think the Arann islands should be some sort of "Oirish" folk park protected from all forms of modernity but I did think a Supermacs in Kilronan was a bit OTT.

I have visitied the Arann islands and they are a special place that I wouldn't want fast food chains from setting upon. But I suppose if there's a local demand for it, then so be it.

Anyhow a poster mentioned in this thread that the Supermacs in Kilronan is now gone and is a bike shop. How ironic.

PS What about an Abrekebabra on the Blasket Islands?:D

this is stupid. what they shouldn't be allowed fast food cos they live on an island?

A Supermacs row thru' would be ideal

This is nothing...Haven been on holiday from work this week i decided to watch daytime TV for the first time ever.

Opera was on and at the end of the show she declared that she has a free bucket of KFC for everyone in the audience. out the b@stards came with there KFC t-shirt feeding over sized sows, then the camera zoomed in on the pigs stuffing there faces. I thought it was supposed to be a chat show

Imagine the Irish equivalent - Pat the Plank declaring at a toy show that he had free spuds and cabbage for everyone in the audience :pac:

Saw that at the weekend, I was thinking "what a great building", couldn't believe it was a mcdonalds!

Anyway, what is it with people in the west and Supermacs? It's foul stuff, but they're mad for it over there! The chicken is like bones in batter.

I remember being in that Supermac's in Kilronan. Strange to hear it's gone, but anyway, Supermac's is prob the only fast food chain that doesn't look THAT out of place (or get away with it), even on Inis Mór. It's practically a Galway institution!

The mighty Dal Cais of Clare shall rise again against the dirty O'Flahertys and rightfully reclaim the islands for the O'Briens. Then we'll stick an Enzo's on it.
