if you're doing it on the cheap (avoiding taxis etc):
Get any bus from Bewley's Hotel to the city centre, ask the driver to drop you off as near as possible to O'Connell Bridge. If you're coming from Swords/the airport, you'll probably be dropped on or beside O'Connell St. Just walk down O'Connell St to the river. At the bridge, make sure you are facing the river and your back is to the Spire on O'Connell Bridge. (This means you're at the bottom of O'Connell St basically, facing the river.) Turn left onto Eden Quay (which is right beside O'Connell Bridge) and walk along the river for about half an hour to the O2.

For a googlemap, have a look at
    http://tinyurl.com/MapToO2fromOConnellBridge

Having said that, the KBR bus from Eden Quay (right beside O'Connell Bridge) is a pretty reasonably priced option, I've taken it before, it's handy and the craic on the bus tends to be good. That'll save you the worry of wondering if you somehow walked past the O2 (I'm so bad at finding places that it's entirely possible that I would do this. Sorry if this sounds like 'directions for dummies', I'd just rather give you too much info than too little!). Hope this helps.

Well done! Really realiable information. I just couldnt wait to see TNA wrestlers back in Dublin! Hope they will perform good x division match

    Thanks for that.

Would you know how much a taxi would cost roughly?

A taxi from the airport? About €20-30, I'd say. I'd be surprised if it was much more. But really, if you're at your hotel in the afternoon, you have ages to get into town and find your way to the O2. It's quite straightforward. I'd probably get a taxi back but you might have difficulty finding a taxi as people pour out of the arena. If I were you, I'd definitely get the KBR bus back to the city centre rather than trying to get a taxi from the O2 afterwards, then get a taxi from the city centre back to your hotel.

Right folks, TNA have announced the talent line-up for the Austria/Switzerland/Germany tour which runs from September 25th to October 2nd. TNA are in Ireland on October 3rd so odds are TNA are most likely not going to change their line-up for here so here it is:

    http://www.tnawrestling.com/content/view/1625/84/
TNA Superstars appearing on the tour are: Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Booker T, Team 3D, Hernandez, Samoa Joe, Suicide, Beer Money, The British Invasion, Abyss, Rhino, Taylor Wilde, Awesome Kong, The Beautiful People, Sheik Abdul Bashir and Black Machismo Jay Lethal!

A little disappointed about no AJ but otherwise it looks pretty good.

Talent not bad Scott Steiner, Awesome Kong, Hernandez and Rhino will make their first apperance with TNA show in Ireland. I cannot believe it no Motor City Machineguns, no AJ. No homicide and Creed. Dissapoint that good x division wrestlers are not coming hope they will update the card and let machineguns at least comes to Dublin. Plz dont tell me Christy Hemme, traci brooks and ODB will not part of tour thats dissapointing. The bright sight is that Booker T is coming here! Kurt, joe, 3d and foley coming will be good.

I wonder why TNA is not thinking holding Fan interaction in Dublin. Last time they were here 2 shows were sold out! guarantee sold out if they decide to do fan interaction in Dublin. Uk got fan interaction so dublin can too!

I think I'll pass in that case. Without AJ or the MCMG, the only ones I'd be interested in seeing are Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle. There is not a whole lot of great matches you can make with that line up.

Dude that would mean that the Knockouts would be taking up about three matches on the card and that wouldn't be cool. You see TNA average six matches per house show (sometimes seven but normally six) and they only bring as many as they need, not the entire roster.

You're most likely going to get two tag matches involving Team 3D, Booker and Steiner, Beer Money and The British Invasion, Beautiful People vs. Kong and Taylor, Kurt against Abyss, Hernandez or Rhino, Joe vs. one of the left over of those three and Bashir against the last one (though he could be lumped into next match) and Suicide vs. Lethal. Though I'd like to see Angle vs. Lethal.

Maybe its even better if Christy Hemme would replace Taylor wilde since she already comes here in Ireland. Was thinking that Traci brooks could be the special referee for beutfiul ppl against kong and hemme. Is still nice that velvet sky and Angelina Love are coming back. I like to see wrestlers making their first apperances in Dublin. Im big fan of Hemme and hope she could join the team for the tour.

Booker T, Scott Steirer, Rhino, Hernandez, british invasion and Suicide are making first apperances. Im happy that 3 main event mafia member are coming to Dublin. and this should be good.

Indeed, an unusually high amount of Mafia'ers doing a tour it's normally at most two. Credit to Foley for coming over as he could easily do what Sting and Nash do but he makes the effort to come over.

Wonder if we could pesuade TNA to hold Fan interaction Event in Dublin. If they can bring to the UK so they can bring in here as well. They love coming here and sure want big TNA growth in Dublin. Schedule pretty tight 2nd oct in switzerland then dublin ireland on 3rd. It will be nice if they could do it during afternoon. Last year tna fan interaction in coventry they were doing it 2 hours before event started

They're already doing the pre-show meet and greet so I doubt they'll do a fanfest aswell.

    From Jeremy Borash's twitter...

"AJ was not scheduled for Germany bc his wife's due date falls in the middle of the tour. Fine. Be that way AJ."

Congrats for him. Not upset now.

Hope Jeremy Borash will give me the backstage pass for giving the loudest chant during the show. Last time 2 lucky person got the pass to meet the stars during the break. Thats a good idea to promote the atmostphere. Hope they do it again!

In London earlier this year they had six stars there but at other events they had everybody there. I think it depends on how big the place is for the meet and greet and how many tickets have been sold.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21 Neon Samurai

I wish there fan interaction for the Dublin event. It will give fans the chance who missed out the meet and greet ticket to meet the wrestlers. In UK TNA events you can buy meet and greet package and fan interaction seperately. Fan interaction happens first then meet and greet happens later. Im such big fan of TNA that im willing to purchase these two tickets. Well at least got the chance to see them in here!!

I've got 3rd row tickets for wembley arena and interaction tickets, the platinum package they are selling is just a better seat coupled with the same fan interaction ticket

I'm surprised TNA haven't attempted a PPV abroad yet. From what I've heard, they are actually losing money on PPV's but recouping costs elsewhere.

They could probably get between 20-30 thousand paid if they did a PPV in the UK or Ireland at the right time of year.

Even Germany would probably give them a huge turnout for a big event.

I always also felt that with the numerous WWE PPV's, they could give one it's own unique thing where it's hosted in a different foreign country every year. London one year, Sydney the next. It would really expand the international market and make them feel included in the big events. They could probably do Wrestlemania like gates since it would be such a rare thing for the countries they visit and it would seperate it from otherwise being "just another PPV"

they tried that with summerslam 92 tbh and it was a huge financial loss because the buys in america were non existant, as a result of the time delay it wasnt shown live in america and everyone was just able to read the results so didnt buy the ppv!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭The Cannibal

"The WWF collected $2,200,000 in revenue from admissions, up from $445,000 the previous year. The company also sold $1,456,203 in merchandise at SummerSlam, which is the largest amount of merchandise revenue at a WWF event. The buyrate for the event was 1.5, down from 2.7 at SummerSlam 1991 but higher than the 1.3 buyrate at SummerSlam 1993."

Sounds like a success to me. It was also the largest attendence in their history, even bigger than Wrestlemania III which had an inflated attendence. Keep in mind the fact that this was shown a full two days later in America and still managed to do a 1.5 buyrate. In todays day and age it might even go out live for an afternoon PPV in America, or at worst a few hours delay which wouldn't really be that damaging.

In the case of TNA, they only did like 17,000 buys for Victory Road with no one paying money to see it in person. Hook up with a UK PPV company like the new ESPN and between US and UK PPV you'd probably exceed at least 30,000 buys, as well as doing probably 30,000 paid in attendence, and making a good bit on merchandise. I think it would be a far more profitable venture than another PPV in the impact zone.

None of that would make any difference with TNA they can't sell ppvs in America however if they could draw a 25,000 to 30,000 gate they would be very very happen with the revenue

Also Matt Morgan has informed me via Twitter than he won't be in Ireland but he will be in the UK, Whatever people think about him in ring he's a really nice guy
