If Dublin was attacked by Nuclear weapon?

Only one place in Ireland is going to be attacked by a Nuclear weapon and that is Dublin. If one hit what would the survival strategy be? Does the Government have a strategy not to be blown to bits? Everything is so centralised in Ireland that one strike would make the country impotent.
I do think the country should have a plan in case of a strike because the results will be terrifying.

Alot of these were tested on US soil but they discovered the colour of the sunset was changing so they swiftly moved tests to the Pacific....that is where the US' most powerful bomb "Dominic" was tested after the USSR detonated the Tsar bomb which has never been equalled. The shockwave was so severe it could be recorded on it's third passage around the globe and left the eco system in that part of the Artic in chaos since. Humans still cannot set foot on the blast site which measure's 100's of km's.

So if Dublin was attacked could it cope? Me, I very much doubt it. Some of the city would be intact but there is no real plan to deal with a nuclear emergency....is there?

the Yanks love us, the British would feel the need to protect us to make up for past mistakes, the Chinese are our trade partners, we send people all over the world as peace keepers.

We are not a target.

Only possible problem we would have is fallout from an attack on a British target (for Dublin, Liverpool would have to be hit before you'd be worrying and the wind blows in the wrong direction for us to worry anyway).

Eh nukes tend to be aimed toward CAPITAL cities. Dublin is far more likely before Liverpool and is certainly a target like every other Capital. Isreal has one on Dublin right now - do you know that? Because we are seen as the most anti semetic country in Europe of course. And they are smaller then us so they have to prove they have bigger balls. But don't worry they have a hard on for Germany too so most of them are aimed there.

A target for WHO though?

Liverpool is, although a smaller city, a million times more likely to be a target than anywhere in Ireland.

Israel is going to waste one of their targeting systems on a small neutral country a few thousand miles away who have no army and no air force rather than say, targeting the 13 countries withing invasion distance who are direct threats?

The population here is too busy giving out about Nigerians (read: anyone who isn't white) and the Polish (read: the ones who are white but don't speak English) to give a crap about the Jews. Of all the minorities the Irish are picking on, I'd imagine the Jewish are pretty damn low on the list.

I personally don't know many people who give a flying **** about Israel, I know a LOT of people who reckon Islam is dangerous in the wrong hands, I know some people who hate eastren European people, Every taxi driver in the country hates Nigerians (read: anyone from Africa) and Pakis (Read: anyone from the refion stretching from Marocco to Sri Lanka).

I doubt a whole lot of irish people actually care about Jews to be honest.

Yeah, our failure to allow in a coupla hundred Jewish immigrants during the war makes other countries' actions around that time pale into insignificance.

Also what intelligence report are you getting this from? Since it's not been publically declared by Israel that they have nuclear weapons I'd like to know who funded the report and just how far into it you have to dig to find Dublin mentioned.

It's common knowledge that Israel has nuclear weapons man, they have never denied it, they just say they won't be the first to "introduce" them to a conflect in the middle east.

They probably don't have the range to hit Ireland though.
