if its late at night and there are a group of hooded white teens on one street and a group of hooded black teens on the other and i can choose either way to walk home, am i being racist by walking down the street where the white teens are???

A group of black hooded teens would be unusual around Dublin IMO. Most of us tend to go with what we feel is comfortable and normal. A group of white hoodies would probably be more "normal".

I'd probably try to avoid both though depending on my humour.

According to experience I'd walk on the black side

I've seen more white people in fights than I have black people, in fact I don't think Ive ever seen a black person in a fight before.. or a building site

WTF have hoods got to do with it....it's easier to tell a scumbag with their hood down.

I have never mugged anyone or have any intentions, rarely am I in fights and not since I was a kid have I started one....and guess what I go around with my hood up....and here's the real shocker, I do it because most of the time its cold or f*cking raining.

But hey, stereotyping makes it easier to sleep at night.

Personally, I find the white hoodies worse. They are more likely to be on drugs, violent etc... I've yet to see a group of black hoodies here, it'll be another 10 to 20 years before we see such a growth in their population to be reflected in them assembling into groups of hoodies.

But the difference between a scumbag and a normal person is that scumbags wear their hoods up all the time. Fair enough if it's raining. But all the time? There's just no need

I wear a hoodie on days like today.

It was warm so no need for a jacket but it was raining so hood up.
Hope that doesn't mean I'm a scumbag

I wear a hoodie nearly everyday. But I only use the hood if it actually rains/ snows.

Most of Ireland's blacks are immigrants. Immigrants tend to want to work. Up until a few years ago you could assume the black guy was a doctor.

where are you london/paris? if you're in dublin you'd be making the wrong choice imo.

i live in the city centre and there'd be a few groups of black teens but there hardly prevailent and they don't act like scumbags.
