There's a GOTY edition coming out with all the DLC for Christmas.

On my second playthrough, this time as humanity's last best hope. I've finished anchorage and have one quest to go on the main quest line. I'm on level fifteen and flying up the ranks.

So is it pretty easy to get to level thirty? I have still to play the Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout and about four side quests in the main game.

Ancorage wasn't as bad as everone said but I can see why people hated it i.e. lack of side quests, good/bad karma choices, excessive combat etc.

If the alien abduction DLC is like it, I'll give it a skip. Anyone think Bethseda will release more after that one?

Looking forward to playing Broken Steel and getting some closure to the main quest.

If you're just following the storyline quest then I don't think you'll be seeing level 30 but whack the difficulty up to max and get exploring and you should be there in no time.

The main reason hated Anchorage was because it was very combat orientated, almost like trying to turn Fallout into an FPS, and unfortunately combat was Fallout's weakest point.

I'd imagine that, provided enough money is to be made, that there will be more DLC.

Played through Broken Steel for the second time.
    Spoiler
Instead of destroying the Enclave platform i destroyed the citadel and the Brotherhood have turned against me. I had no idea i could do that before. Destroying the Citadel gives you access to the brotherhoods armoury with a lot of nice weapons inside.

Despite having strong views on the whole DLC concept & the delivery method that Fallout 3 used, I decided to pick up Point Lookout, simply because it appeared to be a genuine addition to the Fallout 3 gameplay mechanic (ie, free exploration of the countryside) rather than the craptasticly linear shooters that the previous DLCs appeared to have been.

I was not disappointed. Although the swamps cause my FPS to nosedive, the whole experience cancels out the dreadful GamesforWindows platform. There's plenty to explore and discover, with possibly upwards of 10 hours worth of pure exploration around the ruined pleasure town (so that's the price justification right there). The whole area looks great; a foggy, dilapidated coastal area that actually calls to mind the old game "Call of Cthulthu: Dark Corners of the Earth". The swamps look & feel wet and dangerous.

There's some great long quests that take in some very "Fallout"y characters. As for the enemies, the new mutated hicks & super-ghouls are tough, so I would say only level 20+ characters should visit here; I am a very sneaky, subversive character so have been avoiding battles with these guys where I can.

Any future DLC should definitely follow this pattern as it feels like a mini expansion in its own right. I presume at some stage we'll visit the Commonwealth as it has been name-checked so often by various characters it would seem silly not to.

Is the PS3 getting a GOTY edition?

I don't want to spend 10e on each of the 5 DLCs.

I think I'll buy Operation Achorage for the new weapons. I'm going to have to hold off on beating the game till Broken Steel comes out.

Now I hear, only from Kotaku though, that the PS3 DLC isn't coming until September AND Broken Steel will be released first.

It is disappointing that it won't be here till September but at least we will be getting Broken Steel first. That will mean I can go and finish the game and not have to worry about it ending completely.

Still it is a long way away.

€20 euro in game too. Works out roughly the same if you by it online through GFWL or a physical disc.

If you're talking about the Broken Steel DLC, then no. It is supposed to be available on the PSN at the end of September.

Can I continue my game after ending of Fallout 3?

No. This was one of the major problems I found about Fallout 3. Once the game was finished that was it.
    Spoiler
On the very last mission, ensure you have a saved game just outside the room, that way you can complete it, reload the game and continue as normal - only problem is that you will always have that mission listed on your quests

Why is this game so buggy on Pc?

Are they actually planning on patching it or are they done with it.

Everytime I play it crashes and I've added exceptions for my codecs and everything. I don't understand how they could have shipped it in this state.

There's been few patches for the PC, I have it on Steam so it updates automatically,

I play it on PC and very very rarely experience any crashes or bugs. I'd say in over 150 hours of gameplay it might have crashed maybe 3 or 4 times.

Same for me really after about 3 playthroughs.
Only problem I have is trying to alt-tab when in game.

Yea it doesn't like that at all really. Which is fair enough I suppose. One of the performance aspects I was very happy with was both the initial load time and area load times - very well coded imo.
