Definitely wait for broken steel since you won't reach level 30 without going through the expansions. Also you might complain about the price but there's hours of entertainment in Fallout 3, much more than in most full price releases. The expansions are also pretty substantial for the money and have been getting better.

If I look at Fallout in relation to other games then you are right - no doubt. My favorite game of this gen (VC is close).

Still though, Anchorage has about 5 hours I hear and could be a tenner. This may be evened out in the later expansions but still it all adds up. They say they are releasing them separately (with such long gaps) on PS3 becasue they want to make sure there are no bug issues like on The Pitt but can't help but feel it is too disguise the fact that 30e+ for all three DLCs may not be the value for money it seemed.

I think it is fair to say the hours you get from the three packs combined will only be a fraction of the value of the main game yet for a fairly similar price.

Anyway, rant over - I am looking forward for the chance to get back to the game.

I bought the game for 24e. A little peeved about the prospect of paying 10e per expansion.

Wait for the Game of the Year edition: http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/10296409/Fallout-3-Game-Of-The-Year-Edition/Product.html

    Quick question re: this.

I'm considering purchasing the 2 DLC's (Operation Anchorage and .. the other one (not Point Lookout) .. here for 20$ - is it likely to be region locked?

I picked up one of the DLC's the other day as it was on sale. haven't found a copy of the game I've been willing to pay for yet though.

I got Point Lookout today. Those mutated hillbilly guys are brilliant. The double barrelled shotgun is welcome. It really helps create a hillbilly atmosphere.

I was thinking of getting the DLC's off of MS over the next few days, but I hear they will be hitting retail stores as a bundle around August. I might just hold out until then.

These new enemies are tough. Offloading nearly an entire magazine of Gattling Lazer ammo into some of them and they still don't go down.

Just about to start my second playthrough, this time with the DLC.

Was thinking about my stats. What are people's favourites for creating a strong characte and is luck worth considering?

Currently the only way to get it is to fire up Fallout 3, click on Downloads on the right hand side (you need to be fully patched up and logged into Games For Windows Live). Next you will be taken to the Marketplace which innvolves leaving the game . At this point you will need to purchase MS points which are given in convenient little bundles so you always end up buying more than you need. Finally, buy the DLC and wait for the downloads to commence then at the start of each game you should get a message about "Loading new content"

Alternatively you could wait for the retail discs to appear or get the "Game of the Year Edition" near the end of the year.

I'm working my way through the 'Those' quest at the moment. I had tried it before but got my ass kicked by those ants. I've now levelled up a bit and have the Entomologist perk so the ants are no match for me.

Make sure you aim for their antenna. It causes them to frenzy and attack everything else. So if there's a bunch of smaller ones, try and make the bigger frenzy.

No sign of the download additional content for the PS3 yet. Last I heard it was due late June, well this is pretty much as late in June as you can get and still no sign.

    Does anyone know anything?

Damn, hopefully it will be here next week.

I guess I will continue on with my question to
    find the declaration of independence.

Coming close to finishing my second playthrough now. Only really the last "Take it Back!" quest to finish. 60 hours of fun put in so far, my character is almost maxed out at level 29, (I have Broken Steel installled but haven't played any of that content yet).
I still find myself using only the unique Plasma Rifle though. It's rediculously overpowered and while I have 100 in all weapon skills, nothing else is as effective. Admittedly I'm a VATS-aholic instead of normal FPS shooting style.

The only enemies that give me problems are Feral Ghoul Reavers (B Steel upgrades of normal ghouls). Even Deathclaws are pretty easy to beat
    using the dart gun

I've about 10 more locations to discover on the map, couple more bobbleheads to find and one or two more minor quests to finish, but I'll probably just get stuck into the BS stuff now. Also, having Fawkes as a companion late in the game is just crazy overpowered.

Anyone played Point Lookout? Any good?

I've just started point lookout, quite a different atmosphere than in f3,even gloomier if thats possible. The swamp is fun to roam around, once you bring enough rad meds :p and the hillbillies from Deliverance always seem to creep up behind me.

If you havent done the tennypenny tower mission i suggest you do so, the
ghoul mask when warn makes all feral ghouls friendly
