    Volvic add = win - created talk-ability

ACTOR who played idiot = win - gets a shed load of money for being the CHARACTER that they wanted on there campaign. He gets paid even more if the add airs in more countries.

How would you suggest that Volvic should advertise?

You work in marketing, don't you?

Anyone see that new Volvic ad -it's fúcking wrecking my head.

Basically some English twat is given a challenge to drink 1.5 litres of Volvic a day.

That's what got me annoyed first - wtf, like 3 pints of water in a whole day. Doesn't everyone drink at least that much daily?

Then he says "I know it's a lot"
Then at the end he's performing somersaults and whatnot after doing this for a week.

Well call the World Health Organization - seems like Volvic have a miracle cure, everyone can renew lost health and vigour by drinking 1.5 litres of Volvic per day.

Fúcking crap sh1t. ****e ad by a scam artist bottled water company.
I drink tap water anyway and if I'm out and dying of thirst I'm buying sprite.

The ad worked a charm for them, because not only is product stuck in your head, you felt the need to post it on one of the busiest fora in the country.

Surely it worked if he went out and bought a bottle of Volvic?

I could talk about the new Toyota Avensis and not buy it. does this mean that advertising has worked. The point afterall is to make you buy it.

Feckin dispise that ad, that gobsheen bugs the hell out of me. Although nothing pisses me off more than the Bear Grills adds on discovery, a bigger twat I have never seen...

I`m shocked at the impact thaht this advert is having on your life. I mean, the average ad lasts for about a minute or two minutes at most. Just ignore it, switch over, read a book!:o

yeah it's pretty bloody annoying alright.
and bottled water is far nicer than tap water btw.

:mad::mad: I hate that bit! Who cares if you're having a "cheeky little Volvic" while at work. Have a "cheeky little line or two" and THEN come back and tell me about it!

I drink bottled water occasionally, what this ad has done is make sure I don't buy volvic.

Will it get people on Boards to buy Volvic Water - No

Everything is being marketed as a 'challenge' lately.

    The activia challenge
    The Special K Challenge
    The Volvic Challenge
    and god knows what else.

Personally I find it highly patronising. It's like when you are trying to get a child to do something and you use reverse psychology - "I bet you can't ......" and then they do it to prove you wrong (although this was in fact your intention).

I am trying to drink more water as it happens but it was nothing to do with this ad. I did buy the litre bottle of Volvic but that's because it was the biggest bottle in the shop but then I refill it from the water cooler at work (which isn't volvic) so :P

All a ploy to get you to buy their shyte of course. And as for the Volvic ad, I've seen it too. Talk about making a song and dance out of something ffs

Just a quick note on Special K.It's absolutely delicious.Even more so,Special K Reb Berries. It is the rich mans cornflake!

The real Special K challenge is not to eat the whole box in one go!

That Special K challenge is utter bull too.
3 meals a day: two bowls of cereal and a Well-Balanced dinner and no snacks.
It isn't special K that's making you lose weight if you're on that, its the fact that cereal is healthy and you're not eating a load of crap.
It'd work much better with bran flakes or cheerios really.

yes..but at least the women are hot in their ads..;)

The lucozade ad with Ronan O'Gara is head wrecking too, he has the personality of a plank of wood, he has to be Pat kennys love child!!!

It seems most ads today are "a challange". Special K, Volvic, Flora, Danone etc. Thanks to these ads I've set myself a challange that I am proud to have stuck to ..........NEVER BUY THESE PRODUCTS

ACTOR who played idiot = win - gets a shed load of money for being the CHARACTER that they wanted on there campaign. He gets paid even more if the add airs in more countries.

    Uh no......
Actor who played twat = lose - friends will no longer want to associate with him and in any country the advert aired he will be a social pariah.

    With a bit of sense!!

Just because people are talking about the ad, doesn't mean that we're all going to go out and buy it, so I don't see how they have achieved ANYTHING from this ad at all, in relation to this thread. There is yet a poster to say "what is volvic?" So therefore, they haven't gained any new possible customers who maybe didn't know about the product beforehand.

They certaintly haven't endeared any posters here to go out and buy a bottle anytime soon (If anything I know I'm less likely to pick up a bottle because seeing the word volvic is now associated in my mind with a tosser)

So tell me, what exactly, apart from a bit of chat, have they gained from this ad, in relation to this thread
