About people throwing them looks they don't approve of?

 Nobody is. But her job has nothing to do with it. She's a bit mental - she could've been a go-go dancer. What's your point? She didn't "abuse" any powers, as she did something which is everyone's right to do.....

Can I ask you a serious question; are you clued into reality at all? Her job has everything to do with it. She made a false accusation, a very serious one at that (with her job most likely as a backdrop in her mind to making it believable), and you think that is something people have a right to do? She could have been any profession, its the sheer obscenity of what she was trying to achieve and the reason for it which makes her a cretin.

She made a mistake and is going to pay for it that's all needs to be said.Although now when a Garda makes a true statement of such allegations they are going to be scrutinised very badly which is not so good for them.
It said she was there for the fire when to the two fire men died a little while back and she is saying is the reason she hasn't been same since.

Now quite, she phoned the station where she worked.

Its always nice to have some sympathy seeking excuse when you get caught isn't it?

I'd say thats completely boll0x too, using it as an excuse to get sympathy.

How so? Gardaí are allowed to make statements....

    Not false statements.

And when they don't do something you say why aren't they using their power?? She wasn't right in the head, she made a false statement, she fessed up - nothing to do with her job.
She didn't just fess up though, she carried it on to the next day and made a full statement while sober from what I heard. It wasn't until she was pushed that she admitted she was lieing.

People have a right to make a statement if they so wish. A garda making a statement is NOT an abuse of power. She should have known better. She didn't abuse any power any more than Mr Whippy if he made a false statement.

I'm not defending her, she wasted time, made a false statement, I don't care what sentence she gets, but I'm not going to jump on the 'abuse of power/power trip gardaí bandwagon.

Exactly. They knew she was dodgy. If they didn't know her past, it could have turned out a lot worse, i.e. they take it seriously. They did not take her job into account in believing her story, which negates the abuse of power argument.

    Noone is..

the point is that the fact she's a Garda is nothing to do with it.

I know, He only mentioned Gardaí in his post.

No one should give a false statement ever and think they can get away with it.

she is in a state job in a position of power and for abusing this she should be thrown out of the force ,there is too much of this "flash the badge" BS going on in the force.they are being paid by the tax payer and should respect the people who pay their wages.while i think that their are a lot of very good guards in the force there is also a lot of them who would turn on an ordinary member of the public if questioned in any way and at the same time turn a blind eye to total scumbags

Tenner says she doesn't get sacked after this. :D

The run on her on the news was gas out!

    Stupid B-itch. :)

She was out with the girls for a night out....probably drinking 'shnakebites' and discussing the football...

It's the same as when priests have been caught wrong-doing. Some jobs are supposed to be held to a higher standard of account than the general population: those that don't should be severely dealt with. She deserves expulsion from the force, a ban on being in the guards/army for life and I would like to see her get a custodial sentence.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 124 ✭✭Dark_lord_ire

she will deffo get sacked 100% sure of it. Still to anyone who says the guards are corrupt who prosecuted her? her own. I think the guards do clamp down hard on corruption. Thankfully

But i'm almost sure she wont do time for this i'd say the judge will look at the fact she lost her job and will just record a conviction

    I agree.

And the worst crime that she has committed is bringing into question the credibility of woman who might be the victims of sexual attacks in the future.

It might be because she is a snakey scheming attention seeking bitch, who could have tarnished an innocent man because he gave her a "dirty look". You can flap your gums about drug dealers and perverts all you want, but this scum behavior is on a level par with them. And if you can still feel sorry for her, then you are the sad case it would appear.

:mad:Where do u get off calling her a bitch and comparing drug dealers and perverts to her!!?? She made a mistake, plenty of people do! She backed herself into a corner and couldn't find her way out so she did the right thing and told the truth! This girl has done alot for her town AND county if u take the time to find out about her. She will loose her career and has been named, shamed, shown on the news and this only happened because of her choosen career, if she was unemployed or any other career no1 would hear tell of this! If anything, suspended sentence, that's the most she deserves and I hope all goes well for her!

Well firstly she accused an innocent man of raping her because she thought she was so superior that he should be punished for even daring to give her a dirty look. An innocent man's life could of been ruined over this and it doesn't even bear thinking about how this poor taxi driver would of been treated by her collegues had they caught up with her!
She even gave a FULL statement on the matter and only when the senior Garda warned her of the implications did she tell the truth but at the end of the day THIS WAS HER SECOND TIME MAKING A FALSE ACCUSATION.

The girl not only put an innocent mans life in jeproady for her own ego she also wasted police time (AND BEING A COP SHE SHOULD KNOW HOW DAMAGING THIS IS TO POLICING EFFORTS) and made a mockery of women who actually suffer sexual abuse.

She deserves to be shown on the news and named and shamed she is a chronic liar who has now been caught twice making false statements in charge of justly enforcing the law do you not see a problem with that?

She deserves to go to jail. end of. This isn't the first time and had she not have been caught out making a false statement before I doubt the senior garda would've dared question her story and got her to tell the truth and right now those same papers would have an innocent mans face splashed all over their front pages with 'MONSTER FOUGHT OFF BY HERO COP' or something similar splashed underneath

What a silly cow..this pisses me off because people will take real cases less seriously. Can't believe she'd do that.
